He hardly broke sweat today. I moved more in my seat in the stands. Needs a bollocking from the manager because he really isn’t putting the effort in.

If he’s not fit then don’t pick him. Both Kane and Poch need to grow a pair over this whole situation.

It's a fair assumption he is playing as more of a midfielder by poch instruction. Whether that's to add a little spark of creativity to a totally flat CM, or to hide some unknown injury we don't know.

But I really want to see him back in the box pulling defenders all over the place and setting up his own goals.

If its form related. Put him on the bench for a bit.

Personally, I think it's just a blip in a long road. He doesn't look injured to me. Just a little off colour and playing way too out of position.

We are all saying the same thing and sadly we will never know. He can say there is nothing wrong with him but u cant deny the stats. Top speed, distance covered, shots on goal, touches. These are alll lower than last season

Problem is if u rest him media will be all over him

Extremely worrying right now.

I personally doubt that. You have one of the most prolific forwards in the world and you try and "fix" that?

I think it's more likely to be a tactical move to try and get the ball moving from the cm areas. Dembele and dier, to date, do not pass forwards woth any vision. Kane is around there way too often for it not to be a coaching instruction Imo.

It's to his detriment. But I can see some logic, flawed as it is.

Explain his England form then?

Watch the Michael Owen interview about his injuries. I personally think Kane is dropping deeper because he can't do what he used to do. I can't remember the last time he turned a defender and latched on to a through ball. He just seems to 'mark' defenders now.

Where can I find the Owen interview? Thanks (y)

Agree, like a totally different footballer for nearly a year now. More a pocher instead of the complete forward

A year is a bit much. Remember the Burnley game last Christmas when he absolutely annihilated them? He was destroying the league largely up until his injury. Different player since then, apart from some decent showings against minnows in the World Cup.

I didn't dare venture and go into the match thread today, I was already pumped and animated but I had a relation in my home and I had to behave myself.

I didn't see the pre match build up but prior to the kick off when our mighty lads were warming up I spotted HK's calves - they were to me immense -it made Jack Grealish's legs look look they were

Just a thought.....

Harry signed up for the project much quicker than anyone else in the Summer.

Perhaps he knows something deep down ? I hope I’m wrong.

Wrong about his new contract making him one of the highest paid players in the league? ...

Why would you hope to be wrong about that?

I avoid the match thread for games like that, you did well! But HK has changed in the last couple of years. He s much bigger around the shoulders also.

Hopefully, if it is a niggle, that's all it is. But it makes less sense to me, to play a player with a great finish, as a deep lying player if he is less mobile. As you have to work double hard in the middle of the pitch. Make.more sense.to have him as an onside goal hanger!

I wonder if he would be more productive if we went back to a 4-2-3-1. Seems to me that he’s been at his most prolific in that system. I don’t understand this tactic of having him drop deep. I can only assume that Poch sees more value from him playing in that space. I don’t see it myself. Nor did I when he was playing for England at the WC. Combine the slight change of position with a rather troubling drop in application, fitness and strength, and we have a player that is a shadow of the guy who defenders around the world feared 12 to 18 months ago.

I just hope he can get his mojo back. But that might have to start with him and the coach having an honest chat about his form and both admit it has to change as he’s starting to hurt the team. It’s not what he wants to hear or admit but it’s clear as day that he’s not all there and something has to change.

Obviously I love Kane. We all do but somethings not right and he does look exhausted.
Kane isn’t too dissimilar to Firmino in respect that he constantly harries the opposition and doesn’t give them a minutes rest.
Kane just hasn’t done that this season and our system doesn’t work if you don’t defend from the front.
I’m not saying he should be dropped but if one player doesn’t press the whole thing falls apart and that’s what happened this season.

He was never the fastest, but he was a powerful runner - a bit like Gazza - people bouncing off him and opening up space. I just don’t get it. That ankle turn can’t have been that bad to utterly change his game. What’s he looking to protect by not sprinting and opening his legs?

Yeh exactly , I posted somewhere else today about the Owen story thats recently been in the papers. He admits now he was scared to sprint for fear his hammys would go again...for most of his career ! It would fit with Kane's performances this kind of scenario re his ankle and , like Owen , he may not be telling anyone .

edit ah shit , Owen got a mention on the last page...

Yeah, but hamstrings and running at top speed are so intrinsically linked, it's no wonder Owen was terrified. All of Kane's ankle turns have come from impact injuries - being tackled. Running shouldn't really be a problem, it's fear of heavy tackles that would be there.

Yeh , but my point stands that fear of recurrence of a previous injury which affected Owen , may affect Harry . Owen's silence on his prob at the time, would be bad if repeated by Harry too.

Oct 2017 spurs 4-1 Kane 45 sprints

Sept 2018 spurs 1-2 Kane 7 sprints ?

The evidence is there in black and white for whatever reason the guy is f*cked.
