Yeah the alternative begins with Heung, ends in Son and has Min in the middle
Well we were 100% aware that he'd be gone for this period, we literally knew that before we even brought him to the club. So hopefully we've been working with Lamela/Dele/Lucas up front too. Or those two strikers we've spend a combined total of about £40m and £100k per week on.

Dele Eriksen
Lamela Lucas
That until Son is back then:

Lucas Eriksen Dele
Son
Use Llorente as a hit and hope option in latter stages.
It’s not the worst attack we’ve ever had, we need Dier back fit though and all the defenders to remain fit. If we’re stable from a defensive perspective I’m absolutely certain both those attacking lineups would create chances. Amount of injuries this season has hit us hard though but it’s all our fault.

Lucas is out for the foreseeable too. Like that team though.

Its not the end of the world.... It just feels like it is.
Got a mad feeling the boys will pull together and win games until Son and Moura return.
Llorrente may well surprise us.

I’d assume that there’s still an element of guesswork in this timescale, on both sides. At this early stage it probably could be better but potentially could be worse too. March could be his return to the field or his training return. We just don’t know yet. It’s a bit of a rest for Kane too.

Gutting news for team and the fans though and of course for Harry himself. Our fixtures have a complete different look to them when he isn’t in the team.

The facetiousness is so misplaced, it’s embarrassing how little self-awareness you have here. You, and the happy-clapping echo chamber, are burying your heads in the sand and taking issue with anybody who is actually being realistic about the situation.

Having had a successful season, it was unanimous (except to Levy and some of his luddites) that we needed to strengthen the squad. Otherwise we’d leave ourselves open to being short-handed, and susceptible to an injury crisis. The whole season we’ve somehow performed miracles, even in the midst of an almost constant struggle against waves of injuries - and now it’s hit its peak. Yet you guys want to act like we’re wrong for criticising Levy’s fucking idiotic actions in the last window (and no doubt this window).

We have just lost the best striker in the league to injury, our second top scorer to an international tournament, our one fully fit central midfielder to injury - the other option to China, Eriksen is running his contract down, Toby is free to go for pittance this summer and there is not even a sniff of a concrete link for reinforcements.

You would have to be dense in the extreme to not see the problem with it.

100% - It was pretty much a rhetorical question as we all know the answer.

It's too hard to buy in January (conveniently forgetting the other lot bought Aubameyang last year).

We signed Defoe (twice), Keane, Gudjohnsen and er, Saha in January transfer windows when we needed re-enforcements up front, so it can be done - it's just hard. Lucas was our only January signing since 2013.

If it was a World Cup / Euros year then I'd be much more confident of finding someone out of favour that desperately needs first team football and an impression to make that we could bring in on loan. But who is available?

We. Are. Fucked.

Yeah, this is a massive, massive nightmare

We've muddled through in the past, and if Son was around I'd be more calm - but we're down to the bare bones now.

It's all very well competing on all fronts but with certain players so crucial to our game, it's putting a huge strain on our key players.

I still think we'll get top 4 but this is a hammer blow

It’s okay guys, we know the club is adept at solving squad depth issues in the transfer market...

It’s a bummer that Son and Kane are missing at the same time, but the club really should have signed a 3rd option that wasn’t Llorente. Somebody who could play across the front 3.

Not the worst set of games that he misses to be honest, at least in league terms anyway. Cup-wise it's very much different. If anything I'm just hoping we don't slip down the league though to be honest. My main worry is not having enough in reserve and it's come at the wrong time in respect of Son going, Lucas not looking too hot as of late plus being injured and Lamela not looking as he did in and around the time he scored at Brighton and Wolves plus jus coming back from injury.

Not to sound all 'signings signings must have signings' and everything but the group could do with a boost and that's even before this news. We are halfway through January without a sniff of anyone coming in.

Not gonna lie with the squad this depleted it makes me just want to get top 4 and it leaves me not expecting much from anything else. Being without Kane and Son is like Arsenal not having Aubameyang and Lacazette, Liverpool without Salah and Mane, Chelsea without Hazard and, well, Hazard etc.

It's not great, but whenever we've been in such situations in the past we've risen to the occasion, just hope we can do so again.

Personally I think you're wrong and I don't consider myself dense. I guess you'd be telling us that whoever got injured then it would be Levy's fault that we didn't bring in replacements for? Wanyama, Dier, Dembele, Verts, Rose, Sisokko (everyone's fave 6 month's ago), Harry, Moura, Lamela, Aurier and all? I think that this is a particularly unlucky run of injuries at the wrong time.

Now do we paper over the cracks, go again or just accept we're all doomed for ever more. I know which way I look at the future small number of games before most will be back. Nicdic suggested 9 games without Harry. The majority of these we will have a much stronger squad than today - and that will include one with Son in it.

We needed a new backup striker before this anyways as Poch seemingly doesn't rate Llorente very highly (by the fact he hardly ever plays) and he'll be gone this summer anyways.

We did and still do, but unless it is the player we would have gone for in the summer, there is no point in buying someone just to plug a gap?

Not to mention that a) the player no doubt wont start from the off and b) wont score too many given they need to integrate with how we play etc.

I just dont see the value - i think it is a calculated risk but it is only three weeks and not two months if you look at the fact that Son can play up front.

Leaving our squad short meant we had less chances to rotate, meaning we were more susceptible to injuries. That’s what happened and it is Levy’s fault.

I’m not saying anybody is dense, I’m saying it’d be dense to not realise the severity of the situation.
