I’m starting to worry that Kane’s ankles are starting to hold him back, is this the 3rd in as many years?

Leaving our squad short meant we had less chances to rotate, meaning we were more susceptible to injuries. That’s what happened and it is Levy’s fault.

I’m not saying anybody is dense, I’m saying it’d be dense to not realise the severity of the situation.

Coincidently I've just seen this posted elsewhere in the last 5 minutes.

Number of Premier League games missed by #thfc players through injury this season:
Wanyama: 13
Dembélé: 12
Vertonghen: 10
Aurier: 8
Dier: 6
Sánchez: 6
Foyth: 5
Lloris: 4
Vorm: 4
Rose: 4
Alli: 4
Sissoko: 3
Trippier: 2
Eriksen: 2
Winks: 1

I haven't checked this, nor will but thought I'd add this. We have been quite unlucky this season with the 'spine' of the team. It is this area especially that you need consistency and strength. It could be argued that having half of these players fully available would have given us strength in depth needed. I agree we've done remarkably well though in spite of this. We will continue to do so this season imo.

I don’t think that’s the issue. It’s rubbish defenders like Jones trapping his ankle. When players slide to n recklessly every player faces that risk. Kane is our most dangerous player so hence he receives the most desperate tackles.

It’s just frustrating that we’ve been so badly hampered by that fucking United game.

So Kane has decided to not play again until we're in the new stadium. That will put the pressure on Daniel Levy now.

I'm sure you'll get the hump with me marking this as a disagree, so I'll explain my actions. I dont in any way disagree with what youre saying. At all. It's pretty obvious that we gambled with players staying fit and we're losing that bet entirely. Our injuries have been relentless.

What we don't know is how ok poch really was in not signing anyone. There has been a tonne of reports saying he was (and to clarify -- I personally doubt this was the case). But if its true, then is he partly responsible for the situation too. It's an argument to be had maybe.

So what's my problem with your post? It's your absolute inability to see the other side of the argument, or how other people could see an opposing view. That's your perogative. But why the need to call anyone that disagrees 'dense to the extreme'? Everyone is working off the same facts as you, its just some choose to interpret them differently. It's what makes this forum brilliant. Sorry to call you out on this mate, its not just you. I just hate it when people resort to name calling. Anyway -- thats my reason for the disagree. In case you wanted it

I don’t have the hump, nor mind why you disagreed. You don’t have to justify your ratings, especially to me.

I wasn’t going to be as obstinate in my reply, but the sneering by those who don’t see a problem wound me up.

Gutting news.

But let’s not kill ourselves just yet. We have a good manager and good players. Yes we will be short while Son is away, but we all bitch and moan when pundits say we will be fucked without Kane. There are still plenty of goals in our team.

Undoubtedly a massive blow which is only compounded further with Son's international excursion but each time we've had these Kane injury absences we've found a way to win.

We've still got a nucleus of great players at Poch's disposal and as we've seen so often in football, one door closes another one opens for a player to take that opportunity.

Not trying to sugarcoat what is obviously a kick in the bollocks but let's keep our heads eh and see what actually pans out before we all press the panic button!

Just need to get out on the pitch and start doing a bit. All this negative news we get from the club lately does nobody any favours. Games put all the chat to bed...hopefully!

Of course, they can make the situation worse!

I’ve resigned us to being out the league cup and champions league pretty much anyway so anything there is a massive bonus. Just need to get top 4 going again and hopefully progress in FA Cup

Absolutely zero chance we’ll bring anyone in. We wouldn’t sign anyone even if we lost Kane and Son until next season unless someone decided to buy Llorente for £30m thus giving us £30m to spend.
Our thinking will be either we play with a false nine or start Llorente until Son gets back, then Son will play up front until Kane gets back.

We are not a club who makes signings because of injuries to members of the squad. Wanyama has been broken for two years and we are nowhere near signing a backup DM and look at the state of CM right now.

It’s all part of the stadium opening I reckon...

‘Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls....we don’t need new signings, welcome back home and as an added bonus...starting today is one of our own!’

If this had happened last week we could’ve made a cheeky bid to take Defoe on loan for a couple of months :sneaky:

Gutted for Kane. Even more gutted that Son isn’t around. The only positive is that Kane gets a much needed rest. Meanwhile, there must be someone decent we can loan for a while.

Must be the last warning to Poch and Levy: you can not rely on Kane to play in every game all season. There will always be a moment when he gets injured and miss 6-8 weeks.
