There's an ignore button for a reason. I certainly take advantage of it, you all should as well.

The reality is there are some great things about the club, those are boring to talk about and there isn't much to discuss about how great Kane, Jan, Toby, Eriksen, Son, Dele are. How amazing of a coach Poch is, how good Rose is when he's healthy, etc.

The bad stuff is what leads to discussion... hence where I post. I post after games about how amazing Toby & Eriksen are but there aren't 5 pages that follow that stuff.

The most active player thread is Kane (because of bad stuff) and Trippier (because of bad stuff). No idea where the Dele thread is, or take notice how theres rarely activity in the Eriksen player discussion.
Sometimes it's best to say nothing at all then. :)

I'll think about the 'ignore button' recommendation, thanks buddy.

What is all this March, Mid March bollox. Nothing confirmed to that effect

If he is out for a month, which is a good bet that means he's back for Dortmund on Feb 13th or that weekend the 16th of Feb which is FA Cup 5th Round weekend, should we scrape through v Palace

Being more pessimistic than that at this stage is nonsense

As for his loss, yes It's a blow but this group of players has proved us and everyone else wrong time after time after time in the last few years so lets have a bit of belief in them and our manager

Poch is 100% right when he talks about us believing. We might need quite a lot of that in the next month or so....
Sky announced he will miss 11 games as He will not start training until the beginning of March.

You're not wrong about the 'bad' things leading to conversation, but like face-to-face communication, there's an art to posting. Like a normal conversation, if one person in it says the same thing over and over again, it doesn't make for a good or interesting discussion. A good conversation moves from point to point - it doesn't rehash the same point over and over again.

And sadly, when you say that you're one of 16 who have the said the same, you're all exacerbating the deadening of a conversation

I'd say that most people on SC would also feel uncomfortable about the summer transfer window. I don't think I've seen anyone post anything purely positive about it. But most have put it aside, not making satirical remarks about it whenever an opportunity presents itself.

Putting people on ignore is a foolish thing to do, except in the most extreme of circumstances, because all it does is narrow the scope of your own conversation.

Back on topic - losing Kane was a big blow. My own inexpert take is that we should at least try to find a loanee for the rest of the season, because even though we have Llorente, he's our only out-and-out striker, so at the very least, we'll need cover for him.

When you rely so heavily on Kane and have Son fuckin off for half a season this is what can happen.

Bad news. Really bad news.

Spend some money you bald ****.

This is bad news, gonna miss some key matches but at least he's back for the run in.

So who's this loanee that we could possibly pick up, can't actually think of anyone at the moment.

Going off on a tangent, but I don't agree with the lack of depth comments at all. Now we all would make certain changes to the squad, add and get rid to our own tastes, but going on our squad to go into this season we had:

GK's: Lloris, Vorm, Gazza - Well covered.

RB's: Trippier, Aurier, KWP - Overstocked really, but all three have played other side as well to cover.

CB's: Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Sanchez, Foyth - Toby proved his fitness last year. Jan has had a strong couple of seasons. Sanchez had a solid debut season. Foyth showed a lot of promise even in his few games last year. Add Dier to the mix if needed and that was enough options.

LBs: Davies, Rose - Fitness concerns (still) about Rose, but it was probably right to give him a shot at getting back and he's not too far off. With the aforementioned cover from the RB's this isn't really a concern depth wise.

CM's: Dier, Dembele, Wanyama, Winks, Sissoko + Amos, Skipp - This area has some question marks. Dembele we know needs nursing, but he's always been largely available before. Wanyama was back at the start of the season and not yet written off as a crock. Winks has had issues but again was coming back and no one (I think) thought we should give up on him/block his path. We had 5 options for the cm2, plus Amos (who featured at the start of the season, and he too got injured) and Skipp who did well in the summer on tour and as 6th/7th choice that's hardly outrageous - plus the likes of Alli and Eriksen if needed. We had options, quite a few in fact despite some question marks, but its been a lot of bad luck with injuries.

AM's: Alli, Eriksen, Son, Moura, Lamela - Nkoudou is registered, but I discount him. Even then it is still 5 players for the usual 3 spots in a 4-2-3-1. I'm sure loads of people will say spend money and get that one more option but that is still 5 pretty good options and can be rotated. Plus Sissoko has previously played further forward for us a lot. Even with Son going for a couple of spells, I don't think depth really looks an issue (and you can still use Nkoudou or any other youngster early rounds of cups etc, plus any occasion we play three at the back tends to sacrifice one of the AM's).

CF's: Kane, Llorente - And we come to the current hot topic........ We'd all probably like a centre forward putting more pressure on Kane, but that Llorente wasn't given the Janssen treatment suggests Poch is at least happy to have him as a squad option. He provides a different option and has had his uses in most games he has played season. We are also able to field a more fluid attack and have seen some of the AM's play further forward this season. On numbers alone, I don't think we would ever have any more than two centre forwards in the squad so it isn't a missing option per se.

That's a squad of 24, with 21 outfield players and not including some fringe players (Skipp etc). As I said, we would all change some things in the squad but as I said in the summer we're probably only looking really at one/two priority changes and most teams and their fans probably think that, it's football. It's certainly not a squad that has been cut to the bone or wilfully neglected and left with zero options. We've had bad luck with injuries really, that sometimes happens. For a few weeks it will look bad, in a few weeks it might look a lot better with bodies back. As a team, especially if it wants to be a champion one, it's got to meet the challenge and get through it. And any signings should be long term targets done to upgrade the squad, rather than panic buying any old filler to cover for a player injured for a few weeks.

Anyway, back on topic, uhhh hurry back Harry :sorry:

Trix has posted and said that we're looking at the loan route but added that no clue as to who/where we are going to find such a player. As others have mentioned else where, it'll have to be sharpish, we have four games in eleven coming up.

Christ that man utd game was a clusterfuck in every way. tbf i think llorente has done a decent job this season with the minutes he's had and probably deserves a league start, but no chance we can rely on just him til march. This has come at the worst possible time in the season for us.

There must be a journeyman somewhere in the World with a bit of talent who fancies 8 weeks in this team to raise his profile.

Yeah, I saw ITK - it's certainly a tricky one (pardon the pun!). Finding someone who'll be ready to be dropped as soon as Harry's back may be tough. Although I nearly did a spit take when someone mentioned Balotelli, I did think about it after. Although far from convinced, could it be any port in a storm?

Safe to say we could all have 5 guesses at who we might want. I wonder how close anyone has gotten with their darts at a dartboard moment.

Shane Long is available, no?!

Well just putting things in perspective kane and son are the two top scorers (32 between them).

Kane - 20
Son - 12
Moura - 8
Dele - 6
Eriksen - 6

That's an enormous loss I'm not sure how any one can think otherwise.
