Eriksen doesn't put his foot in enough to play that role for me.
What have we seen from Winks that he does that more often than Eriksen? I don't think either particularly do it great but Eriksen has just enough tenacity to succeed there.

I'd like to ease Winks along though as he won't have played a competitive game for like 6 months plus at that point.

Absolutely and I hope he can up to speed quickly. Would love him to become that deeper midfield playmaker.

Not seen him do any field training. Was there 1st day but not seen him pictured since.
Yup. I think he came in for the physical stuff, and is still in recovery mode post-surgery. If he was at Heathrow, I imagine that is for a follow-up with his surgeon before he is cleared for training.

Might still be a bit until he is back in the mix.

Yeah didn’t think he might have to have a follow up. Was thinking worst, came in for pre season felt pain so they packed him off for another opinion. But hopefully just routine and part of the process. Maybe getting all clear to go on tour.

Are there not enough specialists in the UK?seems a bit odd he has to go to the middle east
They do things that are only legal in about 7 countries world-wide...

Seriously though, I do think they do a special plasma treatment there, that is not regularly performed elsewhere. I hear of a lot of big time athletes getting treatment there.

Eriksen has got a little better at tackling. He used to drive me nuts by backing out of challenges.
As for Winks we need to see more from him. He didn’t have a huge run in the team before his injury though. If he can get back to pre injury form who knows how good he can be. Still early days.

Winks should be watching this England game thinking he has a real chance at being an England regular in the future.

Agree. This world cup has increased my appreciation of Winks and I already thought he was important.

The Qatar facility is called Aspetar which is a collection of specialists from all over the world. The funding they get allows them to get the absolute best resources and staff for research, coaching, treatment and general sport improvement.

If we went into the season with:
Verts, Sanchez, Toby replacement, Foyth as CD
Dier, Winks, Wanyama, Onomah MF
Dele, Eriksen, Grielish as attacking MF who could drop into the CM spot
I'd be happy
Obviously with 4 solid wing back/ full backs: BD, DR, KT, KWP

We would still need a versatile forward in the Martial mould mate.
