8 or 14 fit Winks, 14 isn't ready yet though depending on N'koudou's future.
Guess it depend on who we sign too, there aren't that many available numbers.
Someone like Barkley or Lemar probably doesn't want 32 on their back

Thing is if we bring in someone like lemar ,in a 3-4-3 you'll have eriksen son Lamela (lemar) nkoudou? Sissoko? Edwards? Fighting over 1 spot .Therefore wouldn't be surprised to see eriksen drop deeper more often .Actually think Lamela is more than capable to play that role as well .

Lamela's way too slow on the ball for a deeper role. That's his whole problem, that he's not afforded the time on the ball that he got in Italian football.

Winksy will be a regular by this time next year I think and a good season should see him propelled into the England squad considering that Livermore gets in.

“I’m really happy with that but most importantly, you can’t rest on that and I know that – I know I’ve got to keep working hard, keep improving. What’s happened has happened and the most important thing now is to kick on next season, forget about this season and look forward to improving and hopefully taking that step further.”

So how is Harry’s summer panning out as he works towards a return to action?

“I’m obviously still rehabbing and I’ll be in a good 10 days or so before everyone, just getting myself fit, testing my ankle and making sure it’s okay to go back into full training,” he explained.

“I’ve almost got a pre-season before a pre-season just to get myself fit so hopefully I can come back in the best shape I can possibly be in.”

I'm expecting him to come back stronger than ever. Will be great to have him and Onomah as CM options.

He'll be on the plane to Russia.

He's got a cracking shot with either foot, hopefully he can convert a few this season. Would force teams who are parking to step up a bit and pressure him.

Good to see him in the preseason training photos. Hopefully, he will have a full preseason and be ready to contribute from the first match.

Yeah. If he keeps on developing he could be the intelligent tempo-setting midfielder that England have been crying out for since Scholes was misused under Sven.

I'm in exactly the same boat. I really rate Winks but still feel that we need another central midfielder unless Poch sees one of the AMs as capable of playing in CM for long stretches if we were to have injury issues (or unless Poch thinks Onomah is ready). As the squad currently stands we're in real trouble if one of Winks or Dembele picks up a long-term injury.

I don't think Winks' development would be handcuffed too badly if we brought in another CM. Dembele can't really complete 90 minutes so any time he started Winks would be in a position to get 30 minutes or so in a substitute appearance. In addition to that, he'd get all the domestic cup matches (and as good as we are there's every chance we'd go reasonably far in both) as well as slotting into Dembele's place in the rotation if Dembele picked up an injury (something that seems a near inevitability). It'd also give the new CM signing a season to bed in without being overly relied upon and ease the transition when we do eventually sell Dembele, which I think will probably happen soon given his fitness issues. In this scenario it would really be Onomah, not Winks, that loses out.
We also have Dier.

So : Wanyama, Dembele, Dier, Winks, Sissoko at a push and Ali and Eriksen can play in there if we need them to. I think that's fine really.

Think Sissoko will leave (Marseille?). Also think Onomah is ready to play in the middle based on his assured performances in the U20 World Cup.

Great news that it looks like he is back and should be ready for the new season. I am certain he's going to make an impact this season and make the World Cup squad. I suspect he'll burst onto the scene in the early Champions League games where Dele is banned.

Not even close. The U20 World Cup is a far lower level than the Premier League.

Disagree that he's not ready to play there. Yes the U20 is a lower level, but he's shown it's his best position (he's clearly much better there than as a wide attacking midfielder). He'd also be far better in CM than Sissoko. Using your logic it's amazing that youngsters like Winks get a game in the middle.

Properly delighted that he's ready for an ordinary preseason. Was expecting him to be out until the season had started and that it would may derail his season. Now he'll be ready to kick on.
