Harry Winks - Leicester City

Definitely looks a lot more robust than previous times I've seen him - which admittedly is not that much. Can anyone tell me whether he would play as a back up DM or is he more of a CM?

Yup - a Modric type I suppose. Lots of movement, clever, incisive passing. Looks to be a lot tougher as well.

Needs minutes this year - hopefully with us but cannot afford another year without games. Might be pleasing Poch in training and getting right habits but needs to do it under playing conditions too.

Looks like a tidy little player in the Modric / Tony Kroos mold. I do feel we currently miss someone in the middle of the park to dictate the game especially when sides sit deep. I'm hoping Winks can grow into that role.

As others have said, what struck me about his performance against Juve was that his passing was so progressive. If he can perform like that at a higher level, I will be less concerned about Bentaleb leaving.

Yep, Kroos is the one I had in mind. Obviously a long way off Kroos ! But you can find likenesses in style of play for any players to top level ones they may look to replicate.

To be honest I don't understand why Carroll has been ahead of him in the 1st team squad. He looks to be tougher, bigger, have a turn of pace, brave on the ball, passess it forward. I don't see why he's been kept back.

Same here. Carroll needs to be shown the door.

I think Winks did well with the only drawback being a Masonesque lack of balance when forced on to his left side.

Plenty of positive attributes though.

Main reason why I've pushed for us selling Mason and Carroll.
Think there is far more potential in Winks, and Onomah for that matter.
And that we need to give them the game time Mason and Carroll likely would get through seniority.
