I’m really not sure why people compare him to wilshere. They really aren’t the same player.Winks is much more like a carrick type player. And wilshere is more attacking.See no reason if wilshere really found some form they couldn’t play in same team.Weird the English mentality that’s it’s unthinkable to have 2 technically good players in same team. Didn’t do Spain any harm.Sayin that wilshere assisting Kane would seem so wrong lol.

The guy is busted and made zero impression at Bournemouth.. it's not 2011 any more.. Wilshere should be nowhere near the England team. What's even more impressive from Winks is that he had a pretty bad injury and he's not that long back from it, yet here we are and he's playing like a demon.

Amazing how we have not 1 but 2, 'one of own ours' in the squad, this really is a golden age. You can tell how much the 2 Harry's love this club, you can't buy that kinda passion.

I actually wouldn't consider it 'amazing', it just shows what can be done if you put the sustained effort and commitment into developing your own players. It's just 99.9% of the football world is conditioned to think short term.

Hopefully the last few years have just been the start, the Kane's and Winks' (and the Mason's, Carroll's Townsend's etc. in recent years) are establishing the route that many more will take.

Winks is, IMO, far for likely to stay at tottenham for his whole career than Kane is. You can tell in all his interviews how much Winks loves Tottenham and seeing him go nuts at our third goal against Madrid shows it too. Love him.

Wilshere is a huge talent, but nowadays he only ever shows glimpses of it. He's at the wrong club to rescue his talent though. There's only one coach who could help him rescue his career and perhaps achieve his full potential, and that's our Mauricio. Now there's a thought.

Wilshere might try and tackle Kane forgetting where he is lol (then injure himself in the process :giggle::giggle:).

But yeah different players - Winks would play in engine room and even tough Wilshere can also play deeper he seems better playing a bit further up supporting the centre forward.

It doesn’t matter how talented he is, we can’t be signing players who have sung derogatory songs about us in public TWICE.

Plus he’s a massive ****.

And made of glass.

Pretty sure you’ll never see a player play with more passion in a Tottenham shirt than Kane.

Wilshere regardless of the fact he has been injured is so much better and more talented. I would 100% have Winks and Wilshere in CM with Winks picking the ball up off the defenders and getting it to the wings or Wilshere quickly. My only doubt with Winks in that role compared to Henderson is that due to that lack of inexperience, I don't think he is as good at the defensive side compared to Henderson however regular games upto the WC will sort that out and 3 at the back covering will help.

England need to go with the most talented players available not the most experienced or playing the most as in the PL the most talented rarely get games. Winks had 3 pl starts when Southgate chose him we need that bravery. RLC is the next best CM box to box we have talentwise and for England's it's great we're trying him out. We know what Henderson offers and we need to be honest with ourselves If we want to do well. Wilshere is still despite the last fees one of Englands best CMs. It's sad and it demonstrates the PLs lack of ability to bring talent through and waste them, as we would should have quality CMs available but we've contrived to destroy their careers. So as it stands Wilshere and Winks are our best CMs and we should go with them

Winks ability, vision, and touch in tight spaces means he will be just as comfortable further up the pitch.
I think he could play the Carrick, Modric, or even Scholes roles within a couple of seasons.
As a result I believe he will end up being the first CM on the teamsheet with either Dier, Wanyama, or Dembele paired with him depending on how Pochettino wants to set up the team.
