The lad has proved what he can do with the two performances against Madrid in particular, just needs to stay fit, must be so frustrating for him these last couple seasons picking up injuries that have taken an age to heal.

Was 40 taken?
Amos has it.

And winks has said he won't take 40.

I agree, would've been great to see him in 40 for a season.

Loving Winks getting number 8, top stuff!

And happy KWP got a better shirt number too (number 16), although would have preferred he got 22, but that’s taken.
My first thought was that Trips formerly wearing number 16 inspired KWP's number choice. Would be great to see him step up and make similar cameos as Trips did in that number.

Remains my favourite shirt number. With his size and physique it’ll be like watching Greavsie run around the new Lane.

Now, there's a number to live up to, but really believe Winksy can become a Spurs legend, injuries permitting.

16 seems a bit of a tradition for backup full backs at Spurs; not a clue why. Bale in his full-back days, Gunter, Naughton and Trippier have all had it, as well as KWP.
