I’m not really sure why people have brought dele and eriksen into this. For me neither are really midfielders however both can do a job there. My whole point was if Winks is going to play the more advanced in a 2 it would be nice if he could contribute some goals. We actually saw it on Saturday, he got in some very good positions but then seemed to check back or pass sideways on edge of box. I think on the whole he has looked great since coming back. But why limit his potential, I see no reason he shouldn’t start thinking about adding goals to his game. I get a bit sick of people pigeon holing players that they can only do this much and that’s ok and acceptable. Whatever happened to all round midfielders like Robson or souness.

Thought he looked fantastic in that cameo tonight. Great to see him adding those surging runs, really exciting. Has to be 1st midfielder on the team sheet now for me.

He's going to become one very high commodity if he steers clear of injuries. Unless 2016/17 Wanyama is ever returning he will need another beast next to him

So pleased with Winks' cameo today and his recent performances, starting to get back to what we all know he could do. Let's hope this is helping him building confidence and get him starting regularly for the first team. As he is now, he should be one of the starters, but he will only go on and improve, we will just have to accept he will have his ups and downs, but try and remember at the time what he is capable of doing and not get onto him.

Really look forward to him performing for the first team how he did with the youth teams and start taking more controlling and creating more of an impression on the game. He needs to realise he is good enough and I think he will be fine.

As said definitely has to start. Question is with who and in which formation. A 3 may suit him better but I’m really not sure. And if it’s a 2 is he the deeper or more advanced. Would love to see him the deeper in a 2 would be brave. But would add so much to us creativity as opposed to dier.

He looked poor in a 3 for England. Has to be in a 2 as more space opened by other attacking players occupying the opposition

Needs to start every game from now on.

Had enough of the Dier/Dembele combo.

We needed the Dier/Dembele combo to start v City, much as I'm not a fan. They couldn't bull us like they often do. Winks cameo was great to see, but the game had opened right up by then and he had the space to do his thing.

Winks was fantastic when he came on last night, took the game to their midfield which was more than both Dier & Dembele did all game.

I like how he spreads the ball around quickly. Something dier and dembele don't do.

Nice bitta praise from Pep too!

Never had any doubts about Winks, always knew he'd get back to his best and that's starting to happen now. Last 20 vs Barca and his 20 min cameo last night are evidence of that.

He's gonna be one of our most important players once he gets a regular place back in the first 11.
