I wouldn't be so confident on the military service lads. This is a very strict national law and there's no examples of individual players being granted exceptions. The team that got to the world cup semis in 2002 was exempted, as were all members of the squad that got a bronze at the 2012 Olympics. Sadly Son was not in this Olympic squad.

Bloody Leverkusen refused the request from Son to join the Olympic team. He was really really close last year though. Lost in extra time versus Australia in Asian Cup final, which would've given him the exemption. My understanding is that the rule says the service has to be started before the 30th birthday. So he still got 7 years and a few more opportunities. The four events I can think of are World Cup, Olympics, Asian Game, and Asian Cup, of which Asian game (Asian Olympics) is probably the easiest to achieve.

Cross that bridge when or if it comes to it. For now, I'm just going to enjoy watching this lad play. Fits perfectly in the Poch system and looks like he'll be a great signing for us.

I like Son, but he needs to improve his decision making at times. He's often caught in possession when he's dilly-dallying on the ball and sometimes in dangerous positions. That might just come from a change in leagues though, but he certainly brings a lot of energy to the team.

Shame he didn't score from the 1-2 with Lamela. That was a great move.

Love what Son brings to the team - he makes some great off-the-ball runs, where eventually players are going to see him and anticipate those runs.

Hasn't he only won it once?
Was thinking of the coming years before he turn 30,
also thought this was the same award he won a year ago.
Seems it's not the main asian player award. From the winner list it seems they tend to have more focus on football actually played in asia rather than their players' performance in Europe

I like his flicks and interplay, but still think he has a bit to do to adjust to the movement and pace of the league. Has been largely disappointing since returning from injury, but will be given plenty of time and rightly so.
