Is it true that in the next 5 years he has to do 2 years national service?
Yes, but people like athletes have a chance to avoid the military service. Would'nt be surprised if it's already "unofficially" agreed that Son can avoid that by representing his country in football everytime he's asked to do that. That's of course just my guess, but this smells like Levy..;)

Nowdays, Lamela better than Son, and Son must increase his form cuz of injury, but he scored in Korea international team. It was good. Probably he will walk on the pitch.

-from Korean :D

Your English is utterly terrible and yet still better than 90% of my English friends on Facebook.

You're going to be very popular on here.

I wouldn't be so confident on the military service lads. This is a very strict national law and there's no examples of individual players being granted exceptions. The team that got to the world cup semis in 2002 was exempted, as were all members of the squad that got a bronze at the 2012 Olympics. Sadly Son was not in this Olympic squad.

Bloody Leverkusen refused the request from Son to join the Olympic team. He was really really close last year though. Lost in extra time versus Australia in Asian Cup final, which would've given him the exemption. My understanding is that the rule says the service has to be started before the 30th birthday. So he still got 7 years and a few more opportunities. The four events I can think of are World Cup, Olympics, Asian Game, and Asian Cup, of which Asian game (Asian Olympics) is probably the easiest to achieve.

Cross that bridge when or if it comes to it. For now, I'm just going to enjoy watching this lad play. Fits perfectly in the Poch system and looks like he'll be a great signing for us.
