Love Son but no way is he worth 80m+, even in this market. Those are the sorts of figures bandied around for the Martials, the Zahas, who in my opinion are a step up in quality. For me Son is more in the 45-60m bracket, max. Gets tons of goals but needs to up his consistency to be considered in that upper bracket of wingers.
Wow. 39 goals and 21 assists in the last two years and you still somehow think Martial and Zaha are better.

If Son was an Everton player and had managed those returns, you'd be frothing at the mouth at the thought of us signing him. The grass is always greener for some people though.

Averaging 30 goals & assists combined per season 2 seasons running now. Some going that.

Would be interesting to see what kind of names across Europe top those kind of figures & more importantly who doesn't

What utter rubbish, just shows how under rated he is by some Spurs fans. Son is far better than either Martial or Zaha. I’m not going to reiterate his stats which are clearly better I’m just going to say what should be obvious to anyone who watches football, rather than playing FM. If Spurs offered United a straight swap of Son for Martial they would bite our hands off.

Maybe people under rate him because he’s South Korean?

He’s one of the best attackers in the league and scores a huge variety of goals. Plus he’s capable of playing a number of positions and has a good engine.

I’d like to see a list of players who have the same amount of goals & assits as him over the last 2/3 seasons.

I would say Son is on par with Martial and Zaha would not say better or worse... They have different attributes but all are just below the elites in the league.

To be honest, I'll admit that I've under rated him in the past, but it's not because he's South Korean

It's because of his style of play; he's an erratic flair-player, always looking to do a trick, have a shot or take his man on

And as such, there'll be a lot of times when he fails

However, you've got to take the rough with the smooth with these sorts of players, because they will produce moments of utter class for you in the long-run. And Sonny's stats bear this out

So overall I'm really happy that he's a part of our squad, but I have to keep my frustrations in check and be patient with the guy

Really don't know what you are talking about. Son consistently delivers especially when our so called big players are missing. Not only that but he delivered at his previous club. One of the top goalscorers in the Premier League and I suspect one of the easiest players to manage

Son is better than both martial and zaha (zaha, really?). However martial I feel has the potential to be better than son, he just needs the right manager and to play every week in order to fulfil that potential.

We had it before with Lee Young-pyo as well.

I think Son and Dele have similarities, in that both can be highly destructive to the opposition, but both can also be destructive to our own build up play. It's easy to think of players that don't have that pair's weaknesses, but you'd also lose their strengths, apart from a handful of truly world class players. I don't think I'd swap Son for Zaha, but it would've been nice to have both...

If Son is an erratic flair player I'm intrigued as to how you'd describe Zaha and Martial....

People will always underestimate/ value Asian players because really they have no football heritage. Currently I’d say about £70m is correct for Son. However if he was called Sonino had a silly haircut and tattoos I’d value him closer to £100m.

Anyone thinking he should command a smaller fee than Zaha/Martial is watching the football wrong.

I think it's because with your own players you see it all, you see the failed attempts at dribbles, the bumbles and stumbles the misplaced passes or wild shots.

But with other team's players, you see the highlights, the chances the assists and goals, and an occasional full game.

Discussing his value is pointless with the army time still hanging over his head.

Not sure we should be directly comparing Son and Zaha/Martial, because imo they bring different qualities.

In terms of goals, end product and movement Son is ahead of Zaha. I’ve always thought he’s a scorer of great goals rather than a great goal scorer though ( a little bit like Keane was before those couple of seasons before he left).

Zaha is ahead in terms of ball control, trickery and power. I think in tricky away games against top opposition Zaha would be more beneficial.

They are both great players rightly worth a lot of money in the current market and we would be a more dangerous proposition with both of them in the squad.
