Starting tonight for Korea, I can’t understand why he isn’t given a break in a meaningless friendly

Do we think he’ll be involved for Liverpool? On the bench ?

Just seen he’s involved with main s korea squad this week. Which is ridiculous as they are friendlies. Actually think he will go straight back in squad over this busy period and we will try and get a break into him later.

Bench for certain imo.

Just trying to work out his TL it’s a bit mad. I think he had a 4 week break after WC(which is better than some). Then straight into pre season and then USA/ Italy. Then involved for Newcastle. Then straight off to Asian games where I think he played 5 games ? Now straight into 2 more internationals. His head must be all over the shop. Bet he can’t wait to get back to London and settle into a routine.

Be interesting how we handle him. He did have a 4 week break after WC. But his schedule is very messed up. Personally I think he will go straight back into squad and just be given rests throughout season. Definitely think we will need to drop him in for Kane at certain points.

Gonna be pretty jet lagged isn't he. Cant see him being anything but on the bench at the most this weekend.

I don't know why we are so accommodating to national teams, I know that our players enjoy playing for their national sides but ffs can we not just pull them out for a game or two so that they get some rest, it's actually mental how many minutes our players have played since the summer especially our key ones.

Part and parcel with becoming a bigger club - more likely for your players will be called up for international duty. Not really too sure how you haven't figured that out

City have managed to pull players out when they got call ups this time and Utd and Liverpool used to do it all the time, I'm not sure why we haven't been able to put pressure on managers to rest them.

I'd appreciate a response without the condescending tone this time, cheers.

Utd in particular, and I guess City now, were winning a hell of a lot at that time, also paying players absolute top rate. Being able to excel at our club and get international recognition seems to be part of our deal, as we aren't winning big trophies or paying huge money I think we have less purchase to dictate to our players than those lot.

We did a deal with SK which means he will not be called up to the international squad for the November international break. So I suspect that is when he will get a break but as he is clearly match fit I can see him being on the bench for Saturday and the first two games of the Asian Cup in January

Please give him like 3 weeks off to recover after this.

I just want the best for the team, as such, I suggested resting Son right after the Asian games. He's played a insane amount of football and then throw in the travel associated and you have high amount of cumulative fatigue. Apparently, he's still set to play for SK during the international break :(
