Our best player by a country mile. My favorite Spurs player. Get well soon Hugo! I remember Levy stating we are not a selling club some years ago :) Since then, we have sold a few of our best players.

I'm actually worried that Vorm is a bad keeper. Doesn't make anything other than the most basic saves.
FFS- we're not Chelsea- we can't have 2 world-class keepers in our squad. FWIW, I don't think Vorm was at fault for any of the goals yesterday and people are just complaining for the sake of it.

I think we all wondered why he came to us. It's clear that he isn't first rate at the moment. Functional yes, but not first rate. Why did he lose his spot at Swansea? Why did he come to us to sit on the bench? He's 31 and I question that lack of ambition/confidence.

He didn't lose his place at Swansea.

He's a very good Number 2 GK.

Why did he leave Swansea to move his family to London at the age of 30, to work every day at our posh training facility, have considerably less pressure every week, get paid very well as a No 2, and all this after realizing his dream of playing in a World Cup?

Sounds like a pretty sweet lil gig if you ask me.

i didn't understand the need for vorm in the summer, especially not at 5m for such a minimal role in the team. for some reason though people had decided that friedel was finished which imo was based on very little as when he played last season and this pre season he still looked more than fine to me - and that's coming from someone who wasn't particularly thrilled when we signed him. fans have this warped idea of quality in depth, no matter how good the backups are, they're still backups for a reason, that reason being they're not as good as the 1st team so when they do come in you're still going to feel like the team has been weakened. i was told that we'd no longer have to worry about the possibility of hugo missing the odd game if we were to sign vorm, well for one i wasn't particularly worried about this rather infrequent possibility but look at some of the reactions, people wetting themselves that omg we might actually have to play vorm

all of that said, i don't blame him for anything yesterday. saying hugo would've saved the 1st is fanciful and i've seen us concede goals like the 3rd one with him in net. he's not infallible, i'm sure we'd be hearing how hugo would've saved markovic's dribbler up at anfield if vorm was in goal there too.

Will answer this question again.

Vorm left swansea as they thought he had a chronic knee condition (still doesn't look as agile as he used to) he also majorly pissed them off when he thought along with michu he was off to pastures new (Arsenal) he was also not happy there wasn't since rodgers left if he was honest.

I have had the privilege of watching vorm up close when I had to do my coaching badges and believe me he is good enough to be a starting goalkeeper for almost any team in the league barring us and chelsea and united. He is no mug. Some keepers just play better when they are in a routine of playing every week. Some although do well being a second choice keeper and not the main man.

If you were to tell a swansea fan Vorm is a liability or a mistake waiting to happen they would probably laugh at you. His first season and second season he was basically swansea's one man wall. Also one thing he does have on hugo is his distribution is a lot better. Wish hugo would study him in that vain.

Vorm is perfectly good as a starting keeper in the Prem. Can't believe this is even a debate. We have the 2nd best combination of starter/backup in the Prem.

Not surprised he's still missing. The injury sounded quite serious. I doubt we will be putting a timescale on it. Let's just hope we see him in a spurs shirt again.

One of the best number twos in the league. It's a stupid debate. Its impossible to have two goalkeepers of the quality of Lloris.

But, seriously, why isn't there any news on him. It's all too quite.
