Could we do better than Hugo?

Almost certainly not.

Do I have full confidence in him?

Not full, no.

Is he as good as de Gea?

No. Not even close.

What am I trying to say?

Dunno to be honest.

Who the fuck is Degea??
How many times have you watched him play to rate this Degea higher than our captain?
Or
Is it more of how often you hear the media aka fake news praise the poweress of Degea which help you decide Degea is the best?

If its the latter, dont be a lamb, Degea is shit, he made a mistake in the game which couldve caused Manure if not for Sissoko

The better keeper if you had to choose...De Gea probably, but don't think there's a better keeper in the world, Neuer included. Not much in it, both Hugo and De Gea have great hands and goalkeeping reflexes. De Gea is better with his distribution as he's more aware of the play and threats in front of him when he has the ball at his feet or in his hands.

De Gea might be a better keeper but he wouldn't fit our high line sweeper keeper role that we need quite as well. Hugo is better IMO at reading and reacting to through balls that would leave most keepers in a 1v1 situation.

If only he had Paul Robinson's ability to distribute. What a good keeper they'd both make.
I've always been frustrated by his kicking as it you'd think it would be the easiest part of his game to improve on. Surely he could get rid of those nervy kicks with some work on the training ground.

It's about technique though. A lot of that is natural/ingrained as a kid in the formative football years and what sort of approach academies teach. If for instance coming through the ranks in France he was mainly focusing on the traditional goalkeeper stuff, then it's going to be a struggle if mid or late 20's you're all of a sudden expected to be able to play the ball out with your feet under pressure.

come on, even our outfield players have problem keeping possesion when under pressure, let alone making a foward pass.

The question we should be asking Lloris is not distribution, its his lack of goals and assist.
He has made what at least 200 appearance and no goals and assist. That in my book is unacceptable for a goalie.
Unacceptable!

Looking at the goal again he 100% could have got to ball before martial. His original starting position is literally where the ball is struck or maybe 2 yards away. From the initial header martial covers 20 yards before striking ball about 10 yards out.So in the time martial has covered 20 yards lloris has about 2 yards to cover. But instead he goes backwards into his 6 yard box.He easily could have prevented the goal.

He probably assumed that with 2 defenders bracketing him the ball wouldn't get to him, which would be a fair assumption. Why would you blame him for that goal?

I’m not solely blaming him.Its sloppy defending from all involved.I’m just saying if he had committed to the ball,he would have got there before martial.
