He's been great for them all tournament, now all everyone is going to remember him for is that one moment.

I'd say it's a shame, but it was just a really stupid decision, so it's entirely his own fault...hopefully he learns from it!

Stupid error but will be forgotten about in 5 minutes.

Would have got the Karius treatment if they had not won it.

still has been the best keeper at this tournement. Really hope winning the world cup settles him and allows him to cut out the stupid shit.

Lloris will always be prone to an error, just his "style" that allows it.

That's possibly why we were able to get him and why we'll always keep him, so there's a positive - it's just a shame that he can't adapt in an important game and go into a "play it safe" mode, rather than trying to skin Mandzukic.

Up until that point, he was clearly demonstrating just how good he is as a keeper and it's a real shame that will slightly taint his tournament. Nonetheless a fantastic keeper and congrats to him for this achievement.

Yep pretty much every game and Hugo has been great. But doesn’t hide the fact he has made several big mistakes over the past 12 months or so. Think there will be some pressure in France to give another goal keeper a run of games when the Euro qualifies start.

Not sure it would be the worst news for us. We all know how good Hugo is and if he has a point to prove could be even better

Yeah, there’ll definitely be pressure in France to replace their World Cup winning captain.

Give me strength.

I think Lloris will gracefully step aside. There is no where to go but down from WC Champion. Its great to be able to walk away on top of the world.

I don't think he will be forced out, but it makes sense to begin the preparations for Qatar 2022 by having a new keeper participate in Euro 20

Honestly think his head had gone a bit with the reality he’d be lifting the World Cup was day dreaming.

I’m really proud for the bloke. As others have said his time with the national team is coming to an end, but he can step aside having lead his team to an achievement few others can boast of. That’ll be what he will be remembered for. Rather than that mistake in what had upto then been a solid tournament.

Our captain and club legend is now a World Cup winning captain. Huuuuuuggooooo.

I hope we, and everyone else, gives him the respect he most deserves.

He’s a World Cup winner and he’s ours. what an incredible man.
