Just trying to keep up with the news, From what I have read, he wasn't, you know pissed, No excuses of course. Not sure where he was eating. French people like a lot of food doused in alcohol. Particularly deserts. All adds up doesn't it? I remember Greavsie avoiding dinners where alcohol would be in the food.

My final comment is why would someone on £150k a week even drive themselves anywhere? Particularly going for a meal and drinks. And in congested London. Khan's fault for banning Uber! Only joking.

I understand you defending him and wanting to deflect negativity away from the club. But we are all just fans of the club, that’s why we are on this forum in the first place, to discuss what happens at spurs. Read through the comments from other members on this post who have had their lives affected by drink driving if you want to understand why people are moaning.

Why is there discussion over curfews and prison? Fine and disqualified from driving. Thatll be it. Disqualification period varies but its longer if you are way way over.m as opposed to only a small amount.

DD is one of the most tested cases in UK law. There s no discussion over his charge and this rumour of 36mg is utter rubbish.

Although the prescribed breath alcohol limit is 35 micrograms, a driver will not be prosecuted under section 5 with a breath alcohol level of less than 40 micrograms. This is in accordance with the guidelines contained in Home Office circular 46/1983.

He was well over the limit to be charged.

Yes, because in my line of work, comprehensive criminal checks were done periodically. I remember accompanying one of my staff to court give a character witness on a DUI charge he had committed outside work. He was bricking himself because of the sanctions against him that could be imposed. He was charged and banned (Just missed a custodial sentence on the back of my testimony according to the judge). Because of the charge he was demoted from being a team leader where that had obvious financial consequences.

Thanks for the clarification. I know for my own incident the 40mg thing was in effect, but that was more than 20 years ago. As I no longer drive, out of choice, had no idea whether that had changed or not.
