I don’t have children but I can only think that anyone who does and turns a blind eye to drink driving or has done it themselves is basically saying they are ok with someone killing their kids.

It’s that simple. No excuses.

You seem to be in a bit of a bubble/ echo chamber. Maybe your culture is one of ‘it’ll probably be alright’, but mine certainly isn’t, nor anyone I tend to socialise with. If any of my mates had even a single drink and thought about driving they’d get told to fuck off.

What’s the law about drink driving?
One beer is below the limit I always thought?

I can never understand why people like him just don't get in a cab no matter how much it costs. Peanuts to them.

Stupid isnt it. Most ‘normal’ people who drink and drive don’t plan to when they go out. He probably didn’t think he’d have as much as he did, especially as it was a weeknight. He’s obviously had a few and instead of doing the right thing and leaving his car there, he believed either that he might’ve been there or there abouts re the limit or he couldn’t be bothered to collect his car the next day and thought ‘fuck it I’ll drive home’. They never think they’ll get caught, unfortunately they never think they’ll crash either but they often do.

It’s weird because it really is a disgusting thing to do, yet It’s a crime where the vast majority of people who are caught doing it are decent family types with good jobs and are law abiding in almost every other way. Very easy to deal with (mainly) at the station and you do end up feeling sorry for them in some cases because they rely on their license for their career and it all ends there. They’re not generally meatheads who go out looking for fights etc. But at the same time you think to yourself they could’ve genuinely killed someone, a child maybe. Then what? If Lloris was twice the limit then he must’ve had a fair bit and should’ve known better. Awful decision from someone who should know better.

Still love him and still 100% support him. Thankfully he was caught before anything terrible happened. Everyone makes mistakes and in his case I very much doubt he planned to drink and drive that day so it’s done, he’ll be punished and that should be that.

FFS isn't It about time we dropped all this "Is he ain't he" to and fro and get back to talking about Hugo the player and captain of our team.
Yes he's made a stupid error and, without harming anybody, has been caught out and will be punished in the court of law as they see fit. The same thing happened to me over 20 years ago and believe me it cost me.
My business, my marriage and my house on top of the years driving ban and fine.

Interesting over here in Australia as a young lad it's almost encouraged by your mates to pissy drive, Which in turn means it isn't really frowned upon as heavily by society, eg when a sporting star gets caught over here it is swept under the rug quite quickly...

I live in a rural village in England, no public transport, very few taxis ( 2 hour wait at weekends ) , no Uber. So a lot of people come to the local pub , have a couple and then drive home, there are no police either. Living in a big city totally different.

This might be true in your local area of Australia. In Qld and NSW it’s a massive deal with government campaigns, police road blocks and heavy fines and loss of license.

I live just out of the Perth CBD, Much the same here with the police booze buses on every corner on weekends and random breath tests dotted all around, But it was the fact that it isn't frowned upon by the majority of my friends parents growing up as well as the majority of teen - late 20's, weird stance i've always struggled to comprehend growing up.

My friend was in an aussie government advertisement for booze and drugs buses a few years ago. Very funny ad.

Totally Football Show podcast saying today that Areola might be the French No.1 pretty soon. They discussed that in France there is a growing expectation that Areola is getting better and better whereas Hugo is on the downward curve. Just opinion of course but thought I'd share it.

Don't know how good Areola is but Hugo's actually in strong form for us after a disappointing 12 months or so before that.

Oh come on. A disappointing 12 months or so?!
I thought so, compared to his usual (very high) standards - still a great keeper but few top level performances and quite a lot of serious errors. But as I said I think he's been very very good the last few months, probably the best form he's had for us and you can see how much we miss him when he doesn't play.

DAN KP just retweeted this:

Police found vomit in the car when arresting Hugo Lloris. He ran a red light, and was seen veering towards parked cars.
