But I do wonder. Would a coach like Pep motivate this kid? You can hate all you want on Pep as a person, but players seem to love playing for him and I don't think many would have envisioned Sterling's output
Given how much City paid for Sterling at the time, I am pretty sure they were expecting this level of output....

And, it seems players love playing for Poch (and/or Klopp) so I don't think that is really a factor here.

Unfortunately that was all from the first 1/4 of the season probably and he hasn't done much since. He started out as the Villa love child and now loathed. His physical abilities have never been in question. All comes down to application.

One would think that seeing your U-21 mate Cook get his first Cap for England would spark a bit of urgency. We shall see and it is all up to the kid now.

Word on this...

Pep really does improve players but there's been some notable instances in the past where players get fed up of him after a few years because he's to meticulous, I think Pep has a shorter shelf life at clubs than Klopp and certainly Poch.

He reminds me of Adebayor at times... tries hard, dominates the ball, nice bit of skill, plays progressive football and then goes completely bipolar and ambles about like he had one too many to drink the night before. Does he have a weak mentality/lack of belief in his abilities? if so then the club has a problem in that there has to be a time when they say you either step to the required standard or find pastures new. At the moment he’s a what if player... you can have all the physical attributes and talent in the world but if you have a weak mentality then you’ll never fulfill your goals.

I didn't like the guy but I think objectively Ade was definitely a successful footballer.

I'm calling it now, Josh Onomah will break into the 1st team this season! This pre-season will be his to show Poch and most everyone that he has the ability and ethic to start and perform for us.

at who's expense? where is the love for this kid coming from, has he done anything to warrant it?
