Has to be fitness related as he’s not been in any training pics bar gym work.

Development squad have a game tomorrow so if he stayed with them and not injured we’ll soon find out

Really disappointed he isn’t on the tour

Think he’s injured. There was ITK saying that he played with a injury last season to help Villa and in the very few pics I’ve seen of him it’s him in the gym. Can’t see the club selling him, hopefully we don’t loan him either

Could be Josh as one of the kids that is sitting in the tree. If so, I am disappointed. I really think there is a player in Josh. Better be a Pl loan.

Josh should have gone two years ago for loans and got tougher. Gutted if it’s him but can’t see who else hopefully will go on and be a top player

It would honestly be so gutting if we sold Onomah, one of the best midfielder to come out of our academy

Poch said last year or so that he wished that he had Dembele when he was younger and now he basically have the young Dembele in Onomah and he always mistreated him

He also said that Edwards could be the next Messi. The Moral of the story is coulda-shoulda-woulda Onomah could HAVE been the next Dembele but his skill progress in 3 years has not improved at all. I love him I truly do but he is so limited as a footballer you just have to accept sometimes players in the academy who are home grown just don't become what they could have been

He's absolutely not limited as a footballer. When he's played out of position as he always has been at senior level then of course he's going to look ordinary. Kane looked fucken shit at goalkeeper when he filled in once, guess we should bin him too. Poch has absolutely mistreated Josh; and it's funny because the England youth team coaches somehow know that he's a CM but our own coaches don't.

Do not think thats the case. More of a case of not trusting him at cm in a prem game yet. The difference between u21 an a prem-game is HUGE.

I for one think josh has a future at Spurs, and that poch sees himas a cm, but he neds to develop. Our strategy of developing young talent is getting the the right loans and challenging them through that!

Why? Onomah quite obviously hasn't shown enough to get game time at CM which is the hub of the team. If that's the way Poch sees it, it's too risky to put him out there. I hope we keep him btw.

Bus conductor will need people around him at this difficult time. He's going to be full on sackcloth and ashes.

Dan Kilpatrick (Spurs Journalist for Evening Standard) is saying Onomah has an knee injury.

The wording doesn't suggest, in my opinion, Onomah is put in the same 'for sale' bracket as Jansen and Edwards.

So how come you can see this and Poch and our coaches who work with him daily can't? Assuming one of them is Onomah of course, I'm not sure it is.

EDIT: Appears it may be Edwards and Griffiths.

Onomah is great on the ball and in the tackle when in position but as a CM he has nowhere near the movement or quick vision for a pass that Winks does. Onomah is physically all there but his speed of play / thought just does not appear to be fast enough for CM in the premier league. He can get away with that at the junior levels because he can bully less physically mature players but he could not get away with it at Villa and would not for us. If you could take Winks movement and vision and add it to Onomah's physical skill set we have one seriously good CM.

If as you say he's the best midfielder to come out of the academy, why has he failed to nail down a position in 1st team squad and fail to really establish himself in Villa's starting X1. Where is your logic?

If we sell onomah we might as well close the academy. He’s had no chances in his best position. But the boy has to start thinking about himself. He’s had a taste of first team football now. Maybe that’s the real reason Poch doesn’t like loans, he loses control of the player.

You can't base a decision on whether to keep or sell every young player based on how they've played in their favourite position for the first team. I'm sure our coaching staff have seen enough of him in training, youth games and on loan to make a more informed decision than any youth watcher on here.

I’ll go on what I’ve seen thanks.

Nobody, even the coaching staff, know how he’d do playing central midfield for a run of games in the premier league, because he hasn’t done it yet has the talent to do so. They simply don’t know because they haven’t done it!

So in that regard they know as much as us.
