Tidy player, some good footwork, seemed quite pacy and had the confidence to try a header on goal. Good debut.

Thought he was very good, extremely calm in possession. Threw a couple of dummies a debutant should be proud of and had a couple of ventures forward. Lots and lots to like.

Jan looked after him very well during the game as did Dembele who looked like he was keeping an eye on things.

Impressive, look forward to seeing more. Wouldn't hesitate to stick him in against the Cypriot team when Jan is banned.

Don't know anything about Barnsley so I can't comment on what kind of test they were, but Foyth is very good with the ball at feet and showed some good strength to hold off challenges. More than a touch of the John Stones about him in the way he likes to play out of danger. Needless to say, if he was English, the press would have been clamouring for his International call up this morning.

Seemed confident. I'm glad we're easing him in. I don't expect to see him too much this season (injuries permitting), but it'll do him good just training with the squad and playing the odd Cup game to learn the English game. Hopefully he progresses well.

Thought he made a good debut. He looked neat and tidy on the ball and did his job in the centre well.

Obviously it remains to be seen how he does against decent opposition, but I thought his confident debut showed plenty of promise and was one of the few highlights of a poor match.

I thought he played well, he grew in confidence as the game went on. Assured on the ball. As @markiespurs said it does remain to be seen how he does against top class opposition. But he does appear to be good ball playing CH.

I was surprised to find he was shorter and much lighter built than I had imagined. It didn't seem to hamper him.

Went to the game and thought he played well. Showed calmness, good on the ball and good in the air.

Certainly potential there but naturally it is very early days.

I knew he was light, but after seeing him get MOM I was surprised that he was taller than I thought he was!

Actually think we will see him quite a lot he is effectively 1st reserve for our back 3.So imagine he will slot in quite a lot in slightly easier games to give our 1st three a rest.Could see him starting 10-15 games this season.

There was a moment end of the first half where he ended up the the corner flag 1v1 and the Barnsley guy looked to of got past him. Foyth showed amazing strength (but also awareness) and pulled him to the ground, in such a way it looked like he didn't pull him down. Showed strength that his small frame shouldn't have but does. Didn't even get a yellow I'm sure, just a foul. Looks like a boy, plays like a man.

I found at times last night i couldn't quite tell for a moment if it was Jan or Juan on the ball when coming forward. He is certainly suited to the typical Spurs centre half role, judging by his 90mins last night

That's interesting because I thought he was in the Jan mould (as opposed to the Toby mould), so you must have seen what I saw too.

I was really pleased when we signed Foyth. From the little video available of him he seemed a very cerebral player who passed the ball quickly and accurately. Exactly what we need when teams park the bus against us. Very happy he had a good debut.
