I was at the match and it happened right in front of me, so I could see it. He feebly waves his foot at the ball as it passes.
Try watching it on the video highlights.

He waved his foot because he is left stranded in between 2 players. Maybe a more experienced player would have gambled on going to closest player but basically he tried to cover both and got caught in middle. As said not his fault.

He brings the ball out nicely like John Stones. Suggests a good player and I want him to succeed of course but he is miles off being good enough for the PL. Poor concentration, mistakes and out muscled. Look at their goal last night, where he waived his foot toward the ball.

He has not been outmusculed in a single game yet. Not once

Has the potential to be a world class player. Get him bulked up and were looking at a like for like replacement for Jan in two years.

A few forwards have barged him around. I remember Barnsley had a big lump upfront that pushed him around a bit in the league cup earlier last year. It's not so much even bulking up, he just needs to learn how to use his body a bit better, and be a bit cuter.

I bloody love this kid - can't wait to see more of him. Really hope he sticks around.

Only concern I can see is his aerial ability. The rest of his game looks absolutey mustard.

if it were up to me with dier and davies being able to play cb and juan, we dont even need a toby replacement. i feel so strongly that this kid is going to become a top class defender very much in the vein of jan and toby.

Like I said, should Toby decide the grass is greener elsewhere, and I sincerely hope he doesn't, then with this kid and big Dave we have done our succession planning.

Big Dave?? I seen him sink a few down my local and I don’t think he’s got it in him to leave the pud let alone play football

if he commits to the position and stops thinking that he's some supremely talented cultured continental defender that can play his way out of any sort of trouble, then I think he can become twice the player as a defender then he could ever be as a midfielder.

It'll be very interesting to see what happens with him next year. If we bring in De Ligt that leaves us super young at CB, wouldn't hate activating Johnny Evans relegation clause and bring him in for the 4th spot at CB and send Foyth out on loan for a season. That would add another veteran to the room and allow Foyth to go play every week somewhere. What would you all think of this?

From Tottenham's twitter:

Juan Foyth suffered a thigh muscle injury during Saturday’s friendly against Brentford.

As a result, he will miss the start of the season as he undergoes his rehabilitation at Hotspur Way.

Real shame was really looking forward to seeing him on tour. If it was before they left surprised they didn’t sub another kid in.

Better result than the knee injury that was initially reported.

Still, it's disappointing. We can all see that he's got real talent. I hope he gets more of an opportunity this season.

De Ligt is a big IF. Personally I don't want a grown man who steals taxis at the club. I mean Evans there, but also De Ligt if he's also prone to purloining cabs.

I think Dier has been regressing in midfield for about 18 months, and that his future is at CB. A lot depends on whether we play 4 or 3 at the back this season.

Don’t really think Foyth gets the respect his performances last season deserved. Not sure I remember him putting a foot wrong in the games he played. He looked calm and assured with great technique. People seem to think he’s small or physically weak. But he’s 6ft 1.5 which is fine for a CB. Honestly think if he was 2 inches taller people would be raving about him , where as currently he seems an after thought. Like his not a serious option to come in and play if needed.
