As discussed in youth thread we also have a lot of talented CB in tanganga eyoma Walcott Binks BLF. Be surprised if one doesn’t make it. We could have an exceedingly young CB line up in a couple of years.

Looked composed on the ball last season but the rest of his game all needed a lot of work

Clearly he has done a lot of work and his all round defending, strength and pace have increased hugely

Fantastic prospect after 2 really good performances away from home at pretty hostile venues

Still only 20 And just a handful of appearances. Has a great chance at a brilliant future

A nice mature performance in trying conditions. Can see why the Argentine FA have put him straight into the senior squad. Even though they aren’t strong in the CB’s ranks the main point is the lad is ready to step up at that level. I don’t think playing at this senior level will cause him any concerns.

I think it’s time to start pair him with Sanchez, with Gazzaniga behind in goal, as much as possible. Three players who could play together for the next 6/7 years as a partnership. Vertonghen, Alderweireld Lloris is obviously still the first choice triangle for now, but play those three in the league cup v Arsenal, play them in the third round of the FA Cup, play them even in the Europa if we end up there. If we get it right then when the senior three leave bit by bit (I imagine none will be here by August 2021) we can sign up and coming players or even push through our own youth (if good enough) to replace them.

Nah, I disagree. Both Toby and Lloris must start against Arsenal in the cup game.

yeah league cup is unfortunately too important to rotate, but it's why getting europa is important bc we got a handful of fringe youngsters that need the game time.

I'm probably in the minority but I prefer watching young players develop rather than buying in established ones.
To me the galactico model is like playing a game on cheat mode whereas there has always been a sense of connection with the younger players when they come through.

It might not win us many trophies but we still feel like a football club with a team we can identify with.
And if we do win trophies with these lads it will be a lot more satisfying.

I wouldn't know

Do we do that ? :cautious:

Oh, but we can still keep advancing on the CL. If we defeat Inter, it's gonna be game on. Barcelona just got defeated by Betis 4-2 at the Nou Camp I think, there's no reason why we can't do the same.

But if we fail at that, then I do agree with you about getting Europa. We could actually use it to give important play time at a high level to the likes of Skipp and KWP.

Watched the match in Spainish and the two words from commentary, I recognized the most were Foyth and Paredes. Also around the 80th minute they did a highlight package of him knicking the ball and running the ball into midfield to open spaces and of his passing range. It was a very Foythian display.

So he played well then?
