The thing is Carrasco as their left wingback is their Achilles heel, and they are are ever so vulnerable there. If he does rest him and play TAA, he could have a field day down that side too, with his pace.

They could do a lot worse than having Mousa step in as a LWB for that game.

Didn't Kane come off with half an hour to go the other day? If we can do that again against Belgium then he's had a decent amount of rest time.

About time he got some love on here, cannot fathom how anyone can think Crazy Serge a better footballer.

Has had a great tournament so far.

£3.5m was an absolute fucking STEAL from Burnley...what's his value now?

Easily tenfold of our investment.

One of the best defensive performances I’ve seen from him. He much more comfortable in his positioning as a wing back

I’ve dug out at Trippier previously (I’m a twat), but he is genuinely one of my favourite players atm. In a back five especially. His delivery and passing is some of the best I’ve ever seen. Tenacious, no nonsense hero.

Outstanding tonight
And seriously...the “Burnley Beckham” played better in that game than celebrity footballer beckham ever did for England

What a squad we have!

what the f are you talking about? Poor for their goal?

How the f can you not think he could've done better for that goal? You really think he couldn't have avoided heading that into the crossbar and in?

I swear the overreaction of some of you to differing opinions is mindboggling.

If Walker wasn't playing as a right sided CB would he be played ahead if Trippier? not on current form for me, sexy vein of form

That's the point when Trippier had to defend on the post.... Nobody is questioning his forward play.

That aside he had a good game

I had my doubts of him really making it for us even after Walker's departure, didn't rate him. I am eating humble pie as I am glad to be proved wrong. He has really stepped up and is now being counted, despite the pressure of expectations. What I like about him as well is his humility

He’s been great so far in the WC and he, on the whole, has beeen a decent signing for us, but there’s a big difference between having a good tournament for England and doing it week in week out donning the chicken badge.

I think this set up gets the best out of him.
