Trippier is a mid table defender at best

Walker is top draw because of his pace and power, which is at a the elite level which means he can pretty much mix it with any opponent

Trippier was bent over by Burnley. God help us against the top English & European sides with their pace and power

Anyone who thinks Trippier can mix it at the top table needs medication. I can recommend some good stuff...

Couple of points on the Burnley game. Trippier has been criticised for being too far forward - It's Poch's job to correct that if it's a problem. I suspect he was doing what he was told. Also, nobody knows Trippier's strengths and weaknesses better than Shaun Dyche.

He's far better than Trippier defensively. In fact, I would say he's at least on a par with Rose defensively if not better at some aspects.
i was only thinking this today, was trying to think of the last time Davies has had an error which has ended in a goal, or even the last time he's been caught out.

i'm sure it's happened, but nothing comes to mind.

Until he produces one of his regular assists onto Kanes head and you go back to wanting to slobber all over his nob.

Davies is fine defensively but does not provide the same type of push forward that Rose does. Davies is much better in a back four where he has someone with pace in front of him providing the attacking width. Neither he nor Trippier get to the end line like Rose or Walker did at their best last year. Defensives had to defend against them which created space for Eriksen and Dele. Now teams just stay compact, don't worry about our wingbacks getting behind them and make sure there are plenty of bodies to clog the middle and send the crosses back out.

Hope you didn't watch the elite level Walker's performances this week against the mighty Malta and Slovakia, you may be needing to get high on your own supply.

Liverpool vs Mane unfortunately, he's a solid player just not the fireworks you can expect from Rose though...

Massively disappointed with him tonight, didn’t show what we need from someone who is supposed to be trying to establish himself as first choice.

Could've gotten 2 or 3 assists tonight, what a game!

ps just saw this today before the game, there must be a connection somewhere...

Trippier has recorded 13 assists in all competitions in 2017; six more than any other Premier League defender.

For the first time this season I feel like Trippier is the better option at RB. For what he gives, I mean some of the balls he puts in are just fantastic. I guess there will be games where the option with more pace may be more ideal but one could argue that for however more defensively better Aurier is doesn't make up for how much better Trippier is going forward.

Regardless, it's fantastic options for the position. I mean if Trippier is a bit tired come Sunday I will have no complaints if Aurier was to come in and provide fresh legs or maybe be seen as the better option to deal with Zaha for instance. Although we did have Trippier up against Ronaldo last night so not sure if the latter will be in the mindset of Pochettino!

Not gonna lie, I was nervous about him going up against Marcelo and Ronaldo, especially taking into consideration how brilliantly Aurier played in Madrid. But instead of having Marcelo attack him, he got on the front foot and used his skills to make life uncomfortable for Marcelo. Fantastic to see him have such belief in his own abilities against an opponent such as this.
