He's coming on like a man possessed the last few weeks. Little chips over the top of the defence for others to run on to, first time volley crosses, holding up and cutting inside or seemingly teleporting into space out wide in the final third - he's been on fire and i'm really impressed. Every aspect of his game is getting better and i'm really pleased for him. Couldn't have been easy coming in to a squad knowing Rose/Walker were doing so well both at the Lane and with the national team, so kudos to him for keeping his focus and working so hard.

Some of the shit some of our so called fans post about our players on Twitter pretty much disgusts me really.

One of the idiots was berating Trippier and Winks starting - so slating one of our own youth players who even prior to last nights class showing had been putting in some nice performances. Gah twitter allowing idiots to be more public idiots...

Not long ago he was no-where near Aurier and now he's world class. Some fans are fickle really :D
It looks like added competition of the emergence of KWP and addition of Aurier who's showing he's adjusted quickly to life at Spurs/EPL has improved Trippier.

If you look at the sources of the tweets most of them are foreign accounts, and judging by the rest of social media there are a lot of foreign Spurs “fans” who know fuck all about the game and in reality are just random Americans or Indian/Malaysian kids who’ve never seen a game.

Twitter is cancer.

nothing sneaky about it --- 100% want him to take the ENG RB slot from KW.
And if he puts in performances like that he can....remember he had Marcelo and Ronaldo on his side in the first half!

Hope he continues to improve defensively as his delivery is so soooooo good.

Always worried me with Walker, much as his pace and athleticism benefitted us (and he provided some extra bonus height as full-backs are usually shorter) his crossing was just so poor for a side that was starting to play with wing backs more and Trippier was providing so many assists in his small appearances at the time when he was back-up.

Even on Facebook there’s the whole “African Experts” thing on the BBC and MotD pages, endless crap from people who’ve never been to a game or have any knowledge about the clubs they support.

Seeing Tim in Uganda posting on Facebook MotD page saying “Lol Spurs so shit the spuds never win no history no trophies #mightychelsea” x 1000 other random foreigners drives me insane to the point I had to stop following them.

50 seconds or so in, ball is played out wide with a black shirt on top of it, he positions himself perfectly and forces the guy to play the ball or risk losing it and Trips have space to run into, jumps over him and then shepherds it out - so much composure.

Walker, for all of his attacking qualities, isn't that smart and would undoubtedly have stood his ground and ended up in a frantic kicking match.

Trippier is a mid table defender at best

Walker is top draw because of his pace and power, which is at a the elite level which means he can pretty much mix it with any opponent

Trippier was bent over by Burnley. God help us against the top English & European sides with their pace and power

Anyone who thinks Trippier can mix it at the top table needs medication. I can recommend some good stuff...

Cannot believe someone hacked my account (again!!)

Ok so he did really well last night but come on guys it was only Madrid ffs

Trippier looked sooo cool and relaxed yesterday yet brave and composed. He didnt look out of place at all.

Masterstroke from poch. They clearly noticed space in and around there defence so poch played trippier to use as an attacking force. Played some very good passes.

Just watched the highlights again. His key moments against Real included:

A great ball accross the goal begging for Dele make the run for a tap in.
As above but with Dele getting the tap in.
Running at Marcello, doing a stepover to take it past him, then putting the ball on a plate for Sissoko....who did an airshot.
Clearing the ball off the line.
A brilliant cross onto Dele's head to give him the chance of a free header to get his hatrick.

Not a bad night really.
