I was surprised at his inclusion if I'm honest, I thought aurier would have been a better option but boy was I wrong, Trip was fantastic.

Trips showed last night exactly why I rate him higher than I do Walker and why I was'nt as upset as some when we sold Walker in the summer.

I totally agree. Trippier's crossing and movement is superb. I prefer him, but love that we have Aurier too, he's also great.

If you look at the sources of the tweets most of them are foreign accounts, and judging by the rest of social media there are a lot of foreign Spurs “fans” who know fuck all about the game and in reality are just random Americans or Indian/Malaysian kids who’ve never seen a game.

Twitter is cancer.
Seems like something that has sadly come with us growing as a club. IIRC only a few years ago there was none of that at all on the SpursOfficial account, it was all friendly banter. I rarely use twitter nowadays due to the shite that some Spurs fans come out with

Trips was awesome last night. Great show of confidence by Poch to pick him and he didn’t disappoint. Really impressed with him since he’s been here

I had some doubts about him defensively but he has proven me wrong time and again. Was probably the best player today for us.

He lacks only in pace department if you compare him to Walker. Overall a superior player. He is also our most vocal player.

Sorry, but I'm really struggling to believe there's anyone out there who truly thinks Trippier is a superior player to Walker.

He’s obviously not as good as Walker but he’s a very good back up RB. A great option to have for 10-12 league games and the league cup.

I think Aurier is better, though, and once he gets up to speed (next season) I can see him making RB his own.

My thoughts exactly. I thought he was diabolical yesterday

He was awful and he is not good enough for a team that want to win match titles all the top players in the world have one thing pace.

Pace in the fullback areas is key in the modern game and to be honest I think he’s the slowest player I have seen in a spurs shirt makes fazio look quick at times

He'll put in a good cross against Burnley and everyone will be saying he's great again, ignoring the fact he cant defend for shit.

Really hope Aurier gets a chance.

He’s fine unless he has to face pace and then he’s pretty much hopeless. Sane exposed him so badly it was embarrassing. Every single team will target him now if they have that pace. Unfortunately you can’t be a modern day full back if you have no pace.

Every right back in the league would struggle against that City attack when they have zero cover in front of them.

This page sums up how fans flip flop so easily.

One game against the best team in the country and against probably the best young player in the league this year and it's doom and gloom.

Such a microcosm.

Trippier does not have the pace of recovery Walker has ,as this is a massive strength to Walker's game. In addition he offers little in the final 1/3, so I'm not surprised people are now sitting up and questioning whether he is of the desired quality for a top 4 team.

Trippier lacks pace and strength. Great against lower table teams where we dominate and he doesn’t have to defend. As a result this thread will continue to be schizophrenic as a function of our opponent.

Aurier has yet to convince me. He doesn’t have Walker’s pace or physicality, albeit he is quicker and stronger than Trippier and a better footballer than Walker. His main issue is his defensive decision making, he regularly gets caught on the wrong side and has a worrying tendency to dive in recklessly.

I think our best bet is KWP, has Walker’s pace and seems to be a better footballer than Aurier.
