Was listening to Full time devils from a few days ago and there was an interesting piece involving us. I don't exactly how good the information is but they have had a right back over at their place to talk with him and his agent. Before he went there however, he was at our place. Supposedly a Trippier replacement.
Dani Alves of course

Tripping to Juventus is still mind boggling stuff.

I think they could be great for each other. He'd give them 25 assists to Ronaldo while not having to do too much defending. The pace in Serie A is also a mite slower, which again suits Tripps. Only risk is him being found out in the CL...
As for us - as usefull as his contribution going forward is for us, he is too much of a liability defensively. So selling him now and getting in a good young replacement like Aarons makes heaps of sense.

Trippier “found out in UCL?”
You do know that he was our main RWB in the UCL last season don’t you?
WE made the Final, in case you were in a dark room or something. And he played.

RISK of being found out.
He played, but was that on merit or due to lack of alternatives? We'll never know for sure... but I know what I think.

Ah, the anti-Tripps brigade come riding to the rescue of an ailing comrade

I actually like the little guy, just think he can’t defend for toffee in general. He wasn’t bad in the final, though - so I deleted my post as it was disingenuous of me to @ him about it.

He would certainly suit Serie A football - especially for Juve. They have the ball a fair bit, not too much defending and doesnt need much pace given the pace of Italian football is generally slower.

It saddens me that a lad we signed for peanuts as Walkers back up, who has always given 100%, helped us to a CL final and several top 4 finishes, never bad mouthed the club, will likely be sold for six times what we paid, and has even scored in a world cup semi gets the abuse he does.

And fans slag off players for not showing loyalty.
For me, he has far exceeded any expectations I had of him whilst here and I'm not surprised other top teams are interested in a player with his CV.

He had some awful performances though. The Ajax match he was at fault for both goals. The City game he was at fault for Sterling's first. Yes, he had some good performances but we need a RB who's consistent rather than having one match here and there.

Makes me laugh the stick Tripps gets on forums.
Yes, he had his worst season so far with us and he openly admitted it and will either improve next season or continue on a downward spiral (which I doubt) but we had 13 defeats in the league and I rarely see any of our other regular back-line getting any stick at all.

I'd be shocked if Trippier wasn't one of the first back in training and working his socks off to improve upon last season, I think that would say a lot about the man and I'd be supporting him if he turns out vs Villa in the first game..

You're very selective in what you read then because I remember Rose, Davies, Foyth, Sanchez and Aurier getting shit thrown at them at various degrees over the season.

I wasn't being selective at all, I actually meant in the close season where we are now but by your quote, you can also add Hugo to your list of names..

Lets for the sake of it back your theory right now and go by the season as a whole. Why are people mainly hounding Trippier now and not asking for the others you named to be offloaded?
The fella had one below par season..I think he deserves a decent pre-season to get himself back up to speed and a chance, if he ends up staying but many seem to have written him off as the defensive scapegoat for the past season, which I just find a bit unfair.

Because the majority of the teams targeted our right side this past season. Trippier seems to have hit his ceiling and I personally don't think he's better than average. I would happily offload one or both of our left backs, but the right side is much more of a problem.
