A good mate of mine is a PSG fanatic and follows them home and away. He attended most games Lucas played for them. When we bought him he told me he'd be amazed if Lucas made it with us, as despite most being skilful and fast individually, he never managed to operate as part of the team unit or become a player that could be relied upon. Obviously he got through and had pretty good stats as a result of his individual ability, but overall he was a huge disappointment at PSG. Particularly given half the games were against thy equivalent of Spurs playing against lower league sides.

I countered with 'he's never been coached by Pochettino', but have to be honest and say I haven't seen much from Lucas thus far that suggests much of a football brain or appreciation of his team mates positions. Hopefully Poch can work his magic but that was not an encouraging performance yesterday given he's coming off a full pre season and should be at peak fitness.

I felt part of the problem yesterday was that he was playing in the same side as Sissoko and Aurier. They didn’t exactly give him the ball, quick and early to effective areas of the pitch to best utilise him.

I hope Moura comes good tho, picked him for my fantasy team.

Should hopefully get a run in the side though with Lamela and Son out atm.

I picked him in my fantasy team as well. I'm thinking of dumping him though . He looked great in a couple of the pre-season games but I'm just not sure how he fits into our system. I was pretty vocal in not wanting him at the club before he signed but I really like the guy and hope he proves me wrong.

I fear that Lucas is on the same wavelength as Serge!

A bit harsh there !!!

Aurier is an accident looking for somewhere to happen.

FWIW I think we just need to be quicker to get Moura the ball in space.

Comments above true as that doesn't quite fit our style that allows opposition to camp a back 9.

Would ideally suit the Pool quick break more.

I really want to see him have a run of at least 5-10 games so we can give him a bit of confidence and momentum and see what he's really got. Feels like we've barely seen anything of him yet.

The more I watch of him the more I see him as a bench player that can pop up with a goal or a nice game here and there against teams like Brighton, Huddersfield, Watford etc. I love him attitude and how he's always positive and smiling. So far he strikes me as a really nice squad player that can come in and take a little burden off of Sonny & Dele as and when

Moura is suffering from Danny Rose syndrome. A few years ago, we were crying out for a good attacking left back. Rose was injured, and everyone decided during that time that he was the saviour we needed. Now Danny is good, but he’s not as good as everyone dreamed he would be while he was out of the team.

Moura is having a lot of hopes pinned on him this summer because he’s supposedly had time to adopt to Poch’s methods, and intergrate into the team.

Now I’m not saying he’s shit, or anything like that. But people have built him up a little too much.

he needs the season. I think he will be first choice at RW for a wile and is clearly still adapting. I have had my doubts about him since we signed him and he wouldn’t have been my choice, but he looks like he needs as much playing time as possible. He obviously has the natural ability. I certainly wouldn’t write him off yet and I hope that a Poch can help him find some consistency and his role in our team. I would like to see him play alongside Lamela as on the few brief times they played together they seemed to be on the same wavelength. I would also agree with the poster who mentioned Kane, as long as Kane keeps dropping deep and stops leading the line Lucas looks at sea. But that is another issue altogether as I think it’s not helping Kane ether. Anyway, we don’t have many options at the moment so now is his time.

Probably right, is a bit harsh but from the little I saw of him last season he was definitely a bit of a headless chicken

Hopefully Poch can sort him out. Didn’t see the Newcastle game....

I think there's a few question marks there, but I'll be pleased if he can have an impact and make a case for starting every game.

I'm currently more a fan of Lamela.

We'll see...

I think he has the skill and speed but needs to player in the right position and we need to work the spaces for him. He is still getting use to the speed and physicality of the premier league as you can still see a difference between they level of his play compared to Lamela and Son. He has the talent and speed just needs to add the right level of aggression. He probably needs to get stronger and should be looking at a player like Eden Hazard as his role model for what he could become.

This is why I was pretty keen on getting another winger other side of Kane and dropping dele to left side of a midfield 3 so that Moura could play in his ideal position. Feel like it's pretty easy to close the space off for him when we play the lopsided christmas tree

Great game today. Really liked how he worked all game. Stole a couple of balls and defended the ball really well.
Fantastic goal too. Beautifully curved

Thought he looked a little lost and a bit shy off the ball until his goal. After that he was like a man possessed, running around with so much more confidence and energy. If he keeps playing like that he will become a fan favourite in no time.
