I sometimes think many of us can't accept who we buy could be a good player it's almost that if the player is coming to us he must be second rate because if he was really a good player he would go elsewhere.
Maybe its an inferiority complex.
My belief is we sign so few players (compared to the other big 4 and Arsenal) that we are very demanding on our signings.

We have been lucky on the most part with our budget but we probably can't afford to keep relying on luck.

16 trophies in his 5 years at the club while playing an important role every season. People are forgetting just last season he was keeping Di Maria out of the squad. People say Lucas flopped because unless he does what Neymar is doing now people would not rate him. So a lot of people call him a failure even though he has played well every season and steadily improved every year. Of course he hasn't reached the heights people expected him to when he was a teenager but comparing him to the likes of Walcott makes no sense because Walcott couldn't hold down a first team spot over the likes of Ramsey and Chamberlain whereas Moura was actually starting over the likes of Pastore and Di Maria. Only out of the squad now because they went ahead and signed two of the best wingers in the world, while Pastore, Di Maria and Draxler are more suited to the squad because all of them can also play in the midfield if needed.

Moura is a far better dribbler and runner with the ball and just a better all round player than Walcott.

As I said, until he has proven himself in the prem, you have no evidence that he is a better player than Walcott. It's all just supposition.

Winning trophies in a largely one team league means nothing

This is such a shit argument. So nothing anyone does in the French league counts? He’s clearly a big talent ffs.

Good player. Unusual, I'd say. Odd style.

Will offer more scope to our attacking play.

Seems to be a bit of a tough cookie as well and uses his body well.

He's got Serge here to buddy with and help settle him in quickly.

Let poch work him into the team and optimise him.

If he can regain some of his past form it'll be a crackin' bit of business for a Jan window.

Don't know if he speaks English or French (probably) but Dier can help him settle in if not.

Not saying it doesn't count. But it definitely doesn't provide enough evidence to suggest he will match or even better Walcott's productivity in a much more competitive league.
