With Sess seriously wanted, and Malcom intimating in January he wanted us, I am not so sure which way the pendulum will swing on this one. If Fulham are not promoted, my money is on all out for Sess.

I hope they are promoted then. While I'm impressed by Sessegnon's scoring record I haven't seen a single thing in his game other than that which would warrant the price tag that has been thrown around.
I'm sure he'll be a good player in the future, just not £60-70m good.

LONDON -- Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino says Lucas Moura is in contention to start against Huddersfield on Saturday, but he admitted the January signing needs to improve his work-rate off the ball.

Moura has so far started the FA Cup fifth-round matches against Rochdale and made brief cameos from the bench in the Premier League and Champions League, having joined Spurs for £24.5 million on deadline day from Paris Saint-Germain, where he had made just six substitute appearances all season.

Asked if Moura was fit enough to start in the league, Pochettino said: "Yes, of course. He's going to have that possibility from now until the end of the season.

"It's true that he still needs to adapt his quality to the team. We're trying to build his fitness and adapt his characteristics to the team. PSG is a completely different demand, standard and philosophy from here.

"He's capable of everything going forward, he has amazing quality but then he needs to be more involved with the team when we don't have the ball.

"We're helping him. That is about training, understanding the position and being capable of making efforts with and without the ball. But we're so pleased with how he's adapting himself to the team."

Out of interest why would you be against the signing?

I just thought from watching him that his end product was poor. I never do "I told you so :smug:" when i'm right (because after all who actually gives a shit?) and am happy to put my hand up when i'm wrong (same reasoning ;)). I didn't think Moura would be a good signing. He has started very well and in addition I think he is intelligent (for a footballer anyway :cautious:) and a likable personality.

It would be a strange fan indeed who wanted one of their club's players to fail just to be proved right.

Watched the game in full today after getting back from work, and Lucas' brief outing today was one of the highlights for me.

The quick link up play with Eriksen in particular was really good to see. Finding space, getting past players, released a great pass to Kane for a scoring opportunity. He came on when Huddersfield had to chase the game. He was aware of his defensive responsibilities, tracked back, pressed the ball.

He made good decisions with his movement, was effective in both ends of the park, with and without possession. Think he'll be a key player for us.

Wish we could get both ad they'e going to be very different types of players. Sess will be more of a wide man who scores goals and just runs past people whereas Malcolm will be more technical where he can dribble past people in tight gaps and more creative with an occasion screamer in him. Guess it all comes down to who we see as more valuable to the team and our needs.
If your analysis is correct then it sounds like Malcom would be a better option for us.

I think we have to keep our options open. Lucas might be great for us, but we can’t be sure of that. Lamela or Eriksen might choose to move on, or Dele for that matter. Better to have too many quality players than too few.

I think we'd be mad to buy another AM, we have 5 quality ones fighting for 3 positions and 6 would be too many!

I would say that Poch is looking to be able to attempt the 4-1-4-1 from last season with Wanyama holding. The 5-5 outfield player split.

Lloris
Aurier Alderweireld Vertonghen Davies
Wanyama
Eriksen Moura Alli Son
Kane

Bringing in Malcom would allow him to play in the Eriksen role when required, and Sessegnon could play anywhere on the left flank. It seems excessive, but those two would allow us to really go all out at teams and remain stable at the back.

I don't see anyone needing to leave from the advanced attacking positions.

You seem pretty certain Sess would be seen as an attacking option more then a defensive one? I’m asking for your opinion not for ITK. Personally I hope he comes in as a wing back.

Should have come on instead of Lamela, but also earlier (the subs should always be earlier than they actually are, I find.. shame). Juve were picking up yellow cards, 3 of their defence and Pjanic were all booked and they looked like a red card waiting to happen. Moura running at them like Son did in the first half could/would (although the officials were a bit odd at times..) have seen at least one of them pick up another card and allow Spurs to kill the game.

absolutely agree he should have played a part tonight. To be frank, I am starting to get concerned that we have been treated to so little of him so far by Poch. Not just tonight. What is Poch's rational on holding him back for this long? It can't be a question of fitness because coming on as a 2nd half sub fitness should not come into it - unless you really are a mess. We've seen he's quick and shifty. I don't rate Poch at substitutions at all and I hope that explains it. I don't want to believe the alternative that he's gone off this very exciting player.
