Earned himself some more minutes today in Poch's meritocracy, maybe even a start against Brighton...

Even showed good discipline in doing some (good) defending as last man.

He is just born to play football. Ridiculous talent on display and only given a few minutes. Worryingly, If we had not been behind I bet Sissoko would have come on before him.

Poch is feeding him the most stingy drip feed of opportunities. The fact he did so well only made a bigger mockery of this.
He is different to Sissoko. Sissoko has limited talent and limited vision and Moura has both but they are also structually different. Sissoko can step in midfield in Dembeles position or Diers positoon and is tough enough to keep it solid.
Moura is a Silva type..I think he woukd play the Silva role inside. Its different from the wing.
I think he will grow if Poch can appreciate the Moura type of player

Can only think fitness has been holding him back. His ability is clear for all to see and more proof we don't need any more AM's in the Summer.

He looks like the special player we have been craving for. Good on the ball, links up play and willing to work without the ball.

Hopefully a good preseason and he will be ready for next season.

Lucas has the potential to be a great PL player. I can see us playing both Son and Moura on the wings next season which would give us some well needed pace up front.

Like others stated in Man City match thread. In some particular matches athleticism and speed are the deciding factors. Liverpool won against City because they outmuscled and out ran them, not tactically outsmarting them. At the moment we have a very well drilled tactical squad but we sometimes lack that certain edge that pure speed up front gives you.

Considering he'd played almost zero minutes when he came to us, I wasn't expecting anything much from him this season, but he's been a breath of fresh air. Surely he must get a start v Brighton. He's been impressive every time he's got on the pitch and offers a real attacking threat.

Next we need a top notch replacement for Dembele. I love Dembele and it will be dufficult to trade up to a better player.
The position needs as much class, quality on the ball and strength as Dembele has and the bonus would be a bit more creativity and some more direct influence on assists and even the odd goal. Right now finding like for like qoukd be difficult to find never mind trading up.
But I think it is the next step.

I can see us play a game using both Moura and Eriksen even without Kane the odd time. Eriksen is a great scorer...almost Greaves like...

Although Moura is not a VDV style player he seens to have a similar way about him. Confident and can think. Sees what the options are and goes for it without the franticness of many of our players.
Thats what makes Dembele good. He calmness aroind the ball. It doesnt make Moura and less quick but his thinking matches his skill set.

The guy has physical attributes nobody else on our team can match. Low centre of gravity, best acceleration from a standing start in the team, raw pace. It's clear that his natural attributes are what we need. Perhaps he needs more drilling to get used to the system, but he deserves to start not least because his skill set is what we're begging for.

Hopefully he has now learnt what Poch requires (demands) of his players and his minutes will increase over the remaining games of the season, upping his confidence/happiness which he can take into next season where he can take the league by storm

For fucks sake. We're in great form. Why would Poch suddenly drop a player for Lucas for no reason? Just because he hasn't played, it doesn't mean he's not 'good enough'. Christ.

I just don't understand why you're bothered about this. We are on a great winning streak. Why do you care if Lucas isn't playing? It's not like we've desperately needed him.

Any change of heart?
