I think it would be madness to sell him, Still has a good 2-3 years at a good level to offer us.

That's the thing, he doesn't. His own words to the British press were "“At the beginning of the season, I said ‘I had physical problems, I want to see at the end of the season how I feel’. That’s what the club and I decided by mutual agreement."

His body just can't take the physical demands of the PL & the way our team plays now.

I think we'll see him having one last big payday by moving to China or Italy, where the pace and style of the game will be more suited to his physical capabilities.

Not sure if I’d agree with that, he was absolutely key to the side when partnered with Sandro in the middle for that first or second season, until the big man got broken :(

Yep Dembele and Sandro were outstanding along side each other when we first got Dembele in.

Then Sandro got broken :-(

I'd be reluctant to sell him, but primarily because we're still yet to see how much better we can bring in. And even then, I feel we need two central midfield additions. If we can only bring one in I'd like to see us keep him.

My thinking is that if we play we two primary central midfielders, one being defensive minded and the other offensive, if whoever we bring in was to say, be out for 3 or 4 games then I don't think slotting Dembele in to cover in that period is so bad at all. It also depends on how Poch wants to have us set up next season and how many genuine central midfielders we'll need.

I know it may well be the right time for him to leave, but I will be absolutely gutted when he does. My favourite player to watch by far. Wish he hadn't struggled with injuries so often.

It's definitely the right time to sell him. We will still get semi decent money for him, he gets one last biggish contract, and he and we know he can't hack the prem physically anymore.

No surprises his best game of the season for us came in Turin against the slower pace of Italian football. He will do well in Italy if he stays fit, it really is the right move for him. He can't do it in the Prem all season anymore.

I love Dembele, but by his own admissions he can’t do this any more. So, the question is, what can we realistically get for him money wise? I’ve seen suggestions from £15mill to £30mill.

I guess, if a Chinese team want him, we’d be in the mid £20mill area, but I can’t see anyone paying higher than that.

I think we should keep him for one more year as he still has his uses without doubt. Although I suspect we might want to sell him now to get a fee rather than lose him on a free in a years time.

I honestly don't think it matters if you or I think we should keep him for another year. The guy has served us well, he's been nothing but professional & I reckon that, between the club, himself & his advisors, a mutual agreement has been made to allow Dembele to move to a less physically demanding league, if that's what he decides.

I don't think the club would even think about standing in his way IF he decides his body can't take it anymore over here.

Inter in London for Dembele
By Football Italia staff
ausilio-490interlive.it__16.jpg

Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio will head to London to negotiate with Tottenham Hotspur for Moussa Dembélé, according to reports.

The Belgian midfielder will turn 31 in July, and is in Roberto Martinez’s squad for the World Cup.

He has been linked with a summer move to Napoli, but he Corriere dello Sport reports that Ausilio is heading to London to see if a deal can be done with the Nerazzurri.

While Spurs are asking around €30m [£26.3m], Dembélé has already made it clear he wants to leave, the newspaper reports.
Any deal would likely have to wait until July, as the Nerazzurri have to break even for the financial year by June 30.

Will hate to see the big man go but, from what he's said previously, it does feel like it might be time. Top player on his day still but our bodies catch up with us all at some point.

One of my favourite players, but all good things come to an end, which this feels like it is.

What a player, strongest player in the league and unplayable on his day.

That’s a lot of money for a player out of contract in 12 months time.

Got a feeling we will still need to sell before we buy so players like him will be out the door early.

Yep, but he's going to want to build off a strong world cup most likely. So late July/August here we come.

That's exactly what he & his agent are hoping mate - "Mousa has another one year contract with Tottenham, he has played a fantastic season and there is a lot going on around him. There is a lot of interest inside and outside of Europe. We are waiting for the World Cup and I hope he plays in Russia, because he deserves that after such a peak season."

Inter Milan join hunt for Mousa Dembele as Serie A clubs battle to sign Tottenham midfielder

Inter Milan have become the fourth Italian club to show an interest in signing Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele this summer.

Dembele is entering the final 12 months of his contract and admitted the past season may have been his last at Tottenham.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino is prepared to listen to offers for 30-year-old Dembele, despite describing him as one of the best players he has ever worked with.

Dembele’s superb Champions League display in Turin against Juventus attracted interest from the Serie A champions and they have since been joined by AC Milan, Napoli and, most lately, Inter Milan.

Tottenham would rather sell Dembele to a Chinese club, as Juve, Napoli and Inter Milan have qualified for next season’s Champions League and could face Pochettino’s side.

And chairman Daniel Levy is not prepared to allow the Belgium international to leave for a knock-down fee, despite his injury record.

Levy is still thought to value Dembele at over £20 million, with the player understood to be seeking wages in excess of £100,000 a week.

Dembele joined Tottenham from Fulham in 2012 for £15m and has gone on to make over 200 appearances for the club.

Regardless of whether or not Dembele leaves this summer, Tottenham are in the market for a new central midfielder to eventually replace him.
