Think we should keep him,

Even if he isn't up to playing full 90s everyweek there are not many better CMs you can bring on when you want to hang on to the ball to see out the game. Deff still has his uses, not to mention hes one of the few big game players we have.

Mate, it doesn't matter how many of us think we should keep him. The guy has given us 6 years of excellent service & has publicly stated he (or his body) can no longer handle the physical demands of PL football & Poch's style / training methods. If he has decided he wants to go, the club (and us) should be nothing but accommodating, try to find the best solution for everyone concerned & let him go with our blessing.

Will hate to see the big man go but, from what he's said previously, it does feel like it might be time. Top player on his day still but our bodies catch up with us all at some point.

Unless you are me then you spend most of your time trying to catch up with your belly.

I can't see why we would want to get rid of an player age 30 just to get a 29 year old.

Agree, but i don't think he's so plagued with injuries like Dembele though. We know poch is looking for that kind of player but his age might be a problem.

Experience and less injury prone

I have seen him play quite a lot, he is good but I think he is 2-3 years to old at this point. His way of playing is a young mans game and I believe we have his skills in Son already. In serie A he can keep going for a few more years but I am not sure of him in EPL.

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy watching him but Im not sure he would be the right player for us.

I watch a lot of inter and although Perisc is talented he's horrible inconsistent and, As you say, a little too old. Buying him would make zero sense. Really wouldnt want him and I also very much doubt we would be interested.

Tottenham pricing Mousa Dembele out of Serie A transfer with £30m valuation

Tottenham are pricing Mousa Dembele out of a move to Italy.

Juventus, Napoli, AC Milan and Inter Milan have shown an interest in Dembele but Spurs want around £30million for the midfielder.

Spurs have reluctantly agreed to consider offers for the 30-year-old because he has entered the final 12 months of his contract and has made it clear he is unlikely to sign a new one.

Dembele joined Spurs from Fulham for £15m six years ago and he signed a contract extension worth £80,000-a-week in January 2016. Spurs would like to make a profit on Dembele but the Serie A quartet are refusing to meet the £30m asking price

Spurs would prefer to sell Dembele, who is part of Belgium’s World Cup squad, to a club in China, where there is interest in the player, but he is thought to favour a move to Italy.

Pochettino has asked Daniel Levy to waste no time in concluding the club’s summer transfer business and urged the Spurs chairman not to balk at taking unpopular decisions.

Regardless of Dembele’s future, which may not be decided until after the World Cup, Spurs are targeting another central midfielder, although Harry Winks expects to be fit for the start of next season following ankle surgery.

30 million? I don't believe that at all. Way too steep, and also unfair on Dembele if he wants to move on. I was under the assumption that the club were going to help him find a suitable place. Given that he often played on pain killers to help out and has been nothing but professional. So i cant see a price tag like that.

Surely £30m is the going rate these days?

Italy would be perfect for him though.

For somebody his age with 12 months left on their deal and with a history of injury problems? If we signed a player with that background this place would meltdown regardless of quality.

Some papers (don't know how credible) claiming that Inter are trying to include Joao Mario in a swap.

Four teams, all of which make loads of money and have a real need in cm, are openly interested. Of course Levy is going to start high, and see who caves in first to get the player they/their manager wants. Negotiating 101.

Wonder if we see Loftus Cheek as a potential like for like Dembele replacement - surely, with him being at Chelsea, a deal that could never happen?

Failing that, I'm all for giving Onomah another chance in pre-season, playing that box to box role and signing a different type of central midfielder.

Think £20 million would be a fair price. We would still make a profit and I am sure the interested clubs in Italy could pay that.
