Agreed, Dele can certainly pick a great pass but he isn't consistent at it and can really slow play down at times. Maybe he won't dribble as much when Dembele leaves like he's trying to replicate him or something.
Dele gives up possession too easy to be considered for holding CM role. He is best utilised running from deep and finding the spaces between the midfield and front line, which he does effectively.

It would be a shame to see Dembele go. We will certainly miss the way he bullies the opposition and allows us to dominate the midfield battle. However, I'm quite excited to see how we will change in this area without him. It's no secret that Dembele is part of the issue when we struggle to break down teams who sit back and give us the initiative, simply because he isn't the type of player to split a defence with passes or use intelligent play to move the opposition around. I would have liked him to have been more adventurous with his dribbling in this respect because I think he has the capabilities to scare defences and cause problems this way, however he hasn't really done this for us and unfortunately these powers will only weaken as he gets older.

It's pretty clear that Poch wants a midfield who can not only go past a player but break the lines and open up situations with incisive passes. Therefore I think that having a solid base (Wanyama, Dier, new DM, etc) alongside Grealish, Eriksen etc will allow our attacking play to be quicker and more direct. Watching Man City and the trio of De Bruyne, Silva & Silva can't have escaped Poch, he knows we need to be better in this area. We have the likes of Kane, Son and Alli who can finish, we just need a player to get the ball to them quicker from deep, spot their runs or just generally be intelligent when trying to break a defence down.

Oh man we can’t sell the goat!
Even with his hip problems he has bossed big games since Poch has been at the helm.
I think we need to add a top class cm, even with Dembele in the squad.

I think Henderson will start ahead of Dier but to my mind it'll be the wrong choice if we are playing with a back 3.

Mousa Dembélé in @hlnsport:

“I won’t say that I’m leaving Spurs right now. Or that I’m staying. If I leave, I won’t join another English club. Tottenham is my team.”

He admits that he talked with Witsel and Carrasco about china, with Ciman about USA.

Not that it's anything we haven't really heard before, but still nice to know he considers us as his team.

I think it will be a real shame if the Moose leaves European football for China, but he will know his body and how badly the injuries have affected him best of anyone.

Levy will be happy, because the Chinese money will probably be better than we could have extracted from the Italian clubs in for him. And if that extra cash helps us get our top targets, then that's a definite plus.

Dembele is someone who is quite culturally aware and intellectually curious off the pitch, so I’m not surprised that, as a young man in real life term, he would consider an adventure beyond European borders. This is before taking into account his deteriorating fitness and the money he’d earn, I genuinely don’t think the latter comes into play that much at all in fact as, whatever he does, his family are set for generations with what he’s already earned.

Same reason I don’t begrudge the likes of Gerrard, Lampard, Beckham, Keane etc going to Asia or the US even when they in theory have something to offer the premiership still. They’re still young men and it’s an adventure which they’ll learn from. I bet any of us, if offered the chance to do similar in our careers with full security that we’d be returning to the Uk afterwards with all opportunities and possibilities in tact, would do the same.

Definitely, though personally would avoid America like the plague. China would be cool though.

The team will miss him, there's no doubt about it. I wouldn't say he's unique but I fear that we'll struggle to fill the void that he leaves behind. I like that it's all so amicable though.

He also likes Bitcoin, which makes him alright in my book. Well, not Bitcoin in particular, because it's a useless sack of wank, but the crypto currency space in general.

I can't help but picture Chinese players bouncing off him in the middle of the pitch

Love the guy, hope he does well wherever he goes. I can't believe he signed in 2012. What a great servant he has been.
