Chelsea seem to be wrapping up a 27 mil deal for leandro paredes, does anyone else think that he would be a very good signing for us considering our needs? Financial speaking and ability wise, with Dembele off, I feel like he would be a very wise signing. Yup they were, I think it was an ether/or sort of thing. Im a massive fan of Barella, he along with Zoniolo are the future of Italy's midfield. But I have a feeling that Poch may think he's too short. He is tiny. I also think we are waiting for De Jong before spending 45 mil on a midfielder. I would love him tho. As for Parades, he is cheap enough to not really impact to much on anyone else we might be after. Until Jong moves or tells us he is 100% not coming I just don't see us spend any big Money on a cm. A DM maybe, but not a CM. Even if Dembele is off.

Not suitable. We need someone either too expensive or who wouldn't want to come, or who isn't happy not being an automatic starter.

Paredes would be a nice signing but when did we ever sign anyone Chelsea were interested in? I'd sooner have a slightly clearer run at Barella if that's remotely feasible and as for his size, it hasn't hindered Modric. I also think Skipp will turn out well at DM and we need a player just like Barella who takes on the opposition in midfield and creates space for others. Doubt very much we're even looking at him though but he'd be a quality replacement for Dembele.

I feel somewhat sorry for Loftus Cheek. However, Barkley (and Drinkwater) knew that they are just getting singed to make up the numbers and since they are home-grown. May they rot on the Chelsea bench.

I'd sooner have a slightly clearer run at Barella if that's remotely feasible and as for his size, it hasn't hindered Modric. I suppose my point is that we often seem to preserve our transfer funds in the vague/vain hope that we might possibly land a deJong type of signing and in the meantime comparable clubs to us nip in and sign players like Barella. I don't think we'll get within sniffing distance of deJong, Rabiot, N'Dombele etc so we shouldn't waste our time on these pipe dreams.
