Forget the transfer fee. The guy is on £95k/week. Let that sink in for a moment. He's one of our highest earners, and one of the least able in the team. He was awful at Newcastle, I don't even think he was that good at the Euros tbh - look up his highlights from that tournament - no end product.

The only reason he's still at the club is because nobody wanted to buy him. The financials for a loan obviously didn't work out for Daniel either.

I thought he made some good moves during the Everton game, only to consistently follow up those moves with incompetent ball skills. He is not good enough for Tottenham Hotspur, and if this were Liverpool, he'd have been moved on last January at a loss.

- Where's your proof that he's on £95k a week
- Where's your proof that no-one wanted to buy him?
- Your point about Liverpool doesn't make any sense especially when they are able to sell players at a loss with relative ease compared to us and not to mention they still have players in their team who are average anyway, strange thing to say o_O

So now that Sissoko had a good game people are looking for something else to beat him with.
Seeing that the club bought him for 30m, he must be on high wages.
When has this become a gossip forum or tabloid?

You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

Just shouldn't have paid so much for the sow.

I'm hopeful he will improve and become more of an asset than he has been. He did ok against Everton and created loads of space for others. A bit more composure and his header might have gone in as well.

Watched his performance from Euros again this morning against Portugal.Theres no doubt his most impressive feature is the way he can carry the ball from deep and Literally shred a team.He scored a great goal ,but there were still the odd poor touch and misplaced past.Id say in that game 75% of his touches /passes came off.For us it's prob 25%.Ive know idea how he ended up on right wing. His best position is clearly surging straight through the middle.i think he played in a 3 for France and that's similar to what he played against Everton.he's obviously lost some confidence. But for me I think he can be useful against lesser teams breaking their lines ,and where his mistakes aren't so costly .I have no issue seeing the formation we saw on Saturday. It would also give dembele the chance to rest.

He's in the squad until at least January so we may as well at least all get behind him and hope something comes off for him. He'll never have a good touch but a little confidence and backing and maybe we will find a use for him.

You are right.
We have to get behind him (though the way the ball ricochets off them shins, I'm not entirely sure that would be a safe place to be).
I've come up with a little chant to show our support.
I hope you like it.

Oh, Moussa Sissoko
He's not Babayoko
Or even Yoko Ono
His total number of goals for Spurs is less than solo
He's Moussa Sissoko

:)

Yup, we got to back him now since he is improving... he might be SON mkII. Some confidence he will ignite.

Been adapting well in this 3-3-3-1 formation.... running inside the channels and creating space for Kane and Eriksen..., hope he scores tom and he becomes a beast.

Let's back the team.

I'm not a big fan from what I've seen - but there has been improvement this season.

He won't be going anywhere until at least January though - so the least we can do is support him while he plays in our colours. Anything else is just detrimental to the player and rest of the team. There is absolutely nothing positive or good that come from jeering/booing - giving him shit on social media etc etc

Son MKII is a bit far but hopefully he can contribute. Son actually looked good before he got the foot injury, where as Sissoko...?

If nothing else he is imposing in stature and against Dortmund we might just need some of his unpredictable ricochet runs to get at them...

He was effective against Everton, I feel like that's the best way to describe his performance. Missed. Sitter of a header though. He really needs a couple of goals.

Still, whilst we're missing Lamela (IMO our most effective central line-breaker with his runs and through-balls) he is probably our best bet for central threat coming from deep.

Will add as well that I feel he is at his best when steaming forward with the ball in the middle.

I felt that was why we signed him in the first place, and was surprised when he consistently featured on the right. As others have stated...he does open a lot of space when he's running at players allowing the rest of the team to get into good positions.

If he keeps getting played in the middle - I think we'lll see a more effective Sissoko. If we don't - criticism is valid in January. Let's try and get behind him, and give him a chance in this position though.

I do believe Poch is the best manager we've had since Burkinshaw. I completely trust the fact he is deciding to play him in front of Winks for example. Poch just doesn't see him as the complete liability many of us do - and he knows the player's ability and commitment on and off the pitch immensely better than we do.

If you don't have faith in Sissoko, just have faith in Pochettino's selection of him. He's no fool - and for that we need to support the player.

Anyone got a gif of his run on goal? You could see when he set off he was thinking "Oh no! Oh no! Oh no!"

Really needs to regain some of that self-belief he's shown with his national team.

Still feel if he can just get a goal his confidence will skyrocket and he'll go up another level.

Gawd bless 'im.

He should have done the smart thing and run to the corner flag. Use his strength to hold off the defender. But yeah I was hoping he would just shoot earlier and see what happens.

He's ok
He's better than he was last season
He's still not brilliant but clearly adds something different from the bench

He could be awesome if he learnt to control the ball.

Think Aurier arriving has gave him a little lift and made him feel a bit more settled.

We also have him to thank for his positive words with serge.

Am I the only 1 thinking WTF was he so slow and tired looking when he had that 1v1 chance? He was a few yards ahead of their last defenders yet by the time he got close to the goal he was crowded off the ball..How the heck does someone so fresh into the game look so slow and tired?

He didnt do great in his 15mins for someone who has a lot to prove imo. Very disheartening!

Agree. I think he was feeling the weight of boos, jeers, and social media shite on his shoulders on his at goal.He was thinking..."they think I'm going to miss....I am going to miss".

Definitely need to get behind him. As others in the thread have quite rightly pointed out, he's a friend of Auriers - no doubt had a hand in getting Aurier here. Always been a critic, but think he's done okay off the bench. Really isn't that bad a squad player considering we have injuries.
