He's quite possibly one of the worse footballers I have ever seen at Spurs and I couldn't give a shit how many negative ratings I get for this. How can anyone back a player when he can't even do the most simple of things and that's pass a ball to our players properly. The ball bounces off his shin like a pinball machine because he has the worse control I have ever witnessed. Sorry but the only comeback anyone can say when trying to stick up for Sissoko is " But there were worse players " .... well that goes to show how piss poor he is, if the only bit of saving grace is that there are "worse players" .... no he's dogshit and is stealing a living as a footballer

I will support any player on our team and hope they play well. Doesn't hide the fact I think he's crap.

You must only be a young whipper snapper because I have seen plenty of Spurs players
over the years worse than Sissoko. We are just spoilt at the moment with the quality of players and manger we have.

I think pretty much everyone thinks he's crap :D Or, to put it more accurately, not of the required standard for this team. I think perhaps its the tiresome, over the top and repetitive nature of the criticism, often even on the odd occasion when it isn't warranted that mounts people's breasts. For example he was nowhere near as bad was some people would have you believe against Newport but still, he's shit, he was shit before the game kicked off, he was even more shit during it and by jimminy he was triple shit after the final whistle.

I just think if he had an OK game or one of his better performances, its OK to say it, there's no need to go over the top, there's no need not to acknowledge it, it's OK, doing that won't detract from his overall 'shitness' and he'll still get his ration of abuse on another day.

Come to think of it, It actually makes me wonder how a player who is supposedly the worst to ever pull on a Spurs shirt, a player who is so technically bereft, a player who is undoubtedly guilty of everything from the Jack the Ripper murders to shooting J.R Ewing, how such a player keep on getting picked, week after week.

What does Pochettino know that SC doesn't? What does he see in him that SC can't? What does he bring the team that SC doesn't understand? I have absolutely no idea as to the answers but what I do know is, nor does anyone else on SC :D

It's always the latest thing, the freshest thing in the memory that's the 'worst'. You can guarantee whenever we lose a game, someone, in some thread somewhere on SC will say that's the 'worst they've ever seen us play' and so on..........

We are clearly not going to agree on this. But in a couple of seasons, when Sissoko is gone, I guarantee there will be another player in the squad who gets more abuse than any other. It’s the Spurs way.

Mate, go on any other club's forum. All teams have those players.

I would love to find this out.

Yes but how is productive in any way to constantly bang on about it? Its not particularly insightful to point out how shit he is every time he steps on the pitch; and it sure as hell isn't gunna help him or the team to perform better. May as well get behind him because the manager clearly see's him as an important member of the squad.

Isn't it inevitable that it a player is really shit in a game for Spurs that people will talk about it in that player's thread on a Spurs discussion forum? If it's repetitive then it just means it keeps happening. The Kane thread is just as repetitive but instead people are talking about how awesome he is.

If people don't want to read negative opinions about Sissoko, I would suggest a thread entitled 'Moussa Sissoko' would probably be one to avoid.

I think you miss the point. For a number of people, It's not about not wanting to read negative opinions, negative opinions are fine and (again) nobody much thinks he's really good enough............its having them shoved down your throat needlessly when it sometimes isn't justified or accurate.

That's how it rolls as I see it, I might be wrong.

His attitude seems really good, which is weird because Newcastle fans painted him as a ****. I like him and don't think he's that bad. I think the fact that the rest of our team is so good makes him look a bit oafish at times.

It does seem that some people have a real irrational dislike of him.

What's justified or accurate? I thought his performance was really poor last night and he stuck out as being the one player in our side with technical ability far lower than everyone else. His first touch and passing were of a very low standard. You may disagree with that but I don't think it's fair to say that people who've posted their opinion on him being poor were being out of line or unreasonable.

Looking at his stats in the PL this season, his pass completion rate (81%) is better than Alli's and Eriksen's (both 77%), and almost identical to that of Lamela (83%) and Son (82%), so the idea that he's lacking in this regard simply doesn't stack up.

And as pointed out up thread, his heat map shows he plays deeper than Son and Lamela, which is also highlighted in his stats for interceptions, tackles and clearances, where he's ahead of both.

It seems to me that Dembele, Son, Lamela, Alli and Eriksen have the freedom to roam, whereas Sissoko tends to sit deeper alongside Dier or Wanyama.

He has a higher pass percentage because Alli and Eriksen try the tougher forward passes every match. Sissoko rarely passes forward, often takes the sideways or backwards pass.

Haven’t got a real issue with that but to compare his passing with those other 2 players isn’t right.

With the full first team squad now back and available, and with Moura being eligible for all our remaining games (all comps), I think we'll see less negative comments on the player as I think, from now on, we'd hardly see him on the bench, much less starting games (except maybe against Rochdale).
