Totally disagree. Wanyama certainly improved in the second half today. His is bang out of form though.

Wanyama didn't run away from the ball.

People need to remember as well that Wanyama was’nt in today’s original starting lineup and only started due to Jans injury during the warm up.

fucking hell we just finished 3rd and Sissoko appeared in 29 games. If you are happy with the team's effort this year give the guy some props for fucks sake. he isnt a star but he's a Spur.

He does seem to be everyone's favourite scapegoat. I guess every team's got to have one.

There's a difference between being a scapegoat and being a poor player. There's no questioning Sissoko's effort but he is a very limited player technically. He does some nice things but not enough to be a regular starter and his limitations don't help the other players.

So once he leaves who's gonna be the scapegoat next season?

Lamela, Aurier, Dier?

Good question. There are plenty of contenders. Lamela is far too popular though, so probably not him. Dier is seriously underrated, so it could be him. Aurier would be a good bet as he's been a bit shaky since he arrived. Throw Trippier into the mix (because he's not Walker, and Walker is now "good" even though he still fucks up for City), Davies because he's not Rose, Sanchez because he's not Toby, Wanyama, Lucas, Winks...

Who was the scapegoat before Sissoko came? Probably Lamela because he gave the ball away too easily, but that, like Sissoko, isn't being a scapegoat. It's being criticised for poor play.

I honestly have no idea where he will end up. Back to France? Middle/lower table prem team? Will be interesting.

I could see him barging around in China. That'll definitely take him out of consideration for the France team and we'll never see him again.

Just realized that there isn't a dedicated thread to Sissoko. It is looking increasingly likely that he will not be sold this window and I'm awfully okay with that. As he rarely gets injured, the chances that we'll see him feature more this season are high, given that every CM on our roster is struggling with a knock/injury. I do think this 433 formation that Poch is trying out will suit Sissoko and could potentially get the best of him. Something like

Llorente/Kane
Moura/ Son ------------------- Lamela
Eriksen------- Sissoko/Dele
Dier/Wanyama
Davies----Verts ---- Sanchez ---- Aurier

I'm not his biggest fan but he never causes issues, is always willing to help the team and seems to be a liked to rest of the team/staff. Hope we get behind him and hopefully see some better performances and goals from him.

I'm not going to lie - I like the bloke. Evidence suggests that Poch does too and I would go so far as to say I would be surprised if we sell him this summer.
