Just realized that there isn't a dedicated thread to Sissoko. It is looking increasingly likely that he will not be sold this window and I'm awfully okay with that. As he rarely gets injured, the chances that we'll see him feature more this season are high, given that every CM on our roster is struggling with a knock/injury. I do think this 433 formation that Poch is trying out will suit Sissoko and could potentially get the best of him. Something like

Llorente/Kane
Moura/ Son ------------------- Lamela
Eriksen------- Sissoko/Dele
Dier/Wanyama
Davies----Verts ---- Sanchez ---- Aurier

I'm not his biggest fan but he never causes issues, is always willing to help the team and seems to be a liked to rest of the team/staff. Hope we get behind him and hopefully see some better performances and goals from him.
You are missing Dembele, Winks and Onomah, all of whom I would rather see in CM in a 4-3-3 than Sissoko TBH.

That headline should read "Poch refuses to slag off guy who can't get a sniff when proper players are fit, that he persuaded Levy to spend £50m in fee and wages on"
Why do you always include wages in the amount we have spent on Sissoko but don't for dont when discussing amount spent on any other player.............and at every opportunity?

Because BC is full of agenda-driven bollocks.

I am quietly confident he will be a competent member of the squad but dont really dont want him a first choice CM. Happy for him to stay

Probably scuppered any chance of him leaving or at least made it less likely. Guy doesn’t get injured for 2 years then does 10 days before likeliest time he might be sold, maybe it’s fate, meant to be a spurs legend.

Injury might not be that bad. Poch didn’t seem to concerned said it might be fatigue.

Here is a list - 15 pages long - of other occasions Ive mentioned wages - including recent posts mentioning the wages of Aurier, Moura and potentially Grealish:

Any of us are only going to complain about players we don't rate - that's called opinions. People often complain about fees, but usually forget about wages. As you can see form that list, your allegation is bollocks. It's just that in Sissok's case we paid a then record fee, and a then close to our record wage of 90m pw. That's an astronomical commitment to a player who barely kicked a ball his first season and played 13th most league minutes last season. So in Sissoko's case it's hugely relevant.

None of us are likely to complain about the wages of the players we do rate are we, because a) we rate them and/or b) Spurs rarely over pay anyone in relation to market do they.

Sissoko is that rare case of us massively overpaying in fee and wages. The worst financial trade we have ever done by some distance at this point, unless some Chinese idiots pay 50m for him.

The cost of wages + transfer fee is actually shown in the amortisation of our accounts too. So when we sell a player half way through a contract it counts as a saving, because the cost of deal AND wages is already accounted for as soon as it happens.

Buying a player in a deal worth £30m, then selling them for £15m doesn't necessarily mean you straight lost £15m.

Very important for FFP.

Er.... we still have to pay that fee to the selling club and we still have to pay the wages to player whilst employed by us.

Following the ITK from Trix, some twitter accounts are reporting that Wolves have approached to loan Sissoko for the season.

Loan is fine as frees up a slot and sizeable wages. Forced buyout would be the dream (Wolves could probably do with deferring some fees)
