Sounds crazy but with the injury doubts over Wanyama and Winks we can’t afford to let him go. One of the problems with our lack of transfer business during the summer.

Disagree. Dier, Dembele, Winks, Wanyama, all ahead of Sissoko for CM. Plus Dele and Eriksen can play either side of any one of those in a 4-3-3. And we also have youngsters coming through (Onomah and Amos).

They are ahead of him for sure, but one has had two ankle ops and one a bad knee injury which has flaired up again.

As for the youngsters, I think it’s far too early to make any judgment on Amos and I haven’t seen anything from Onamah in his PL appearances to warrant the love he gets on here.

Unless of course we are going to make a big push for another CM in Jan, but I won’t be expecting anything to happen there.

With it looking like Poch is wanting to play Eriksen & Dele as CM's should allow us to pick and choose when to use Dembele thus lightening his load as well as Winks. At least hopefully. If we get a respectable offer we need to jump on it.

Hes handy squad player when desperate. But my bench for Monday is : vorm rose dembele sissoko winks moura Llorente: when Son and wanyama are back he’d be first ditched. Plus I’d rather give Onomah a chance. If there’s s chance to get rid take it.

It's funny that a month ago everyone was complaining our squad wasn't strong enough without additions and now people are saying we're stronger if we sell a few players

So even if Wanyama and Winks are unfit (note Winks came on last weekend and is in full training), we still have Dier, Dembele, Dele, Eriksen, Onomah and Amos who can all play in CM. And we only need Dier or Dembele in Poch's preferred system. I'd say we could sell Sissoko if we wanted to without fear of being left short in CM.

This is pure fantasy really, like it or not Sissoko is ahead of Omomah and Amos according to Poch as he clearly doesn't think they are ready. Also Dembele isn't 100% reliable anymore.

You are correct... but I'd still sell him.

I could never class letting Sissoko leave as crazy.

Will mean either somebody like Onomah will step up or we have a space free in Jan, either way is good.

With Lamela and Moura looking good, and Winks back from surgery, I think we can afford to let Sissoko go. He got a lot of minutes away from CM last season, and we don't need that now. I'd rather use Onomah and Amos as emergency CMs also.

Needs to be at the very least a loan-to-buy though.

Pure fantasy? Sorry, but quite strongly disagree. So what if Sissoko is ahead of Onomah and Amos, by then you're down to 8th and 9th choice and woudl have to have an injury crisis of magnificent proportions.

  1. Dier
  2. Dembele
  3. Wanyama
  4. Winks
  5. Eriksen
  6. Dele
  7. Sissoko
  8. Omomah
  9. Amos

How many players have to be injured before selling Sissoko becomes a major blow? As long as at least one of the first 4 (above) are fit then Eriksen and/or Dele can partner them in a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3, or we only need one CM in a 3-3-3-1

If we don't sell Sissoko it will be because either:
  1. No-one wants him
  2. No-one will offer us a suitable price
  3. Or, because Poch likes his versatility and attitude (as he always puts a shift in, trains hard and buys into the team ethos).
It won't be because we are light in CM.

For the record, I am not a Sissoko hater, I appreciate his effort and versatility myself, I just don't think he is needed with our current squad.

Sell him, if we end up finding ourselves in a position where we wish we'd kept him, well then shit must have gone way way south.

No point selling him until we can replace him. For Spurs first team, I have seen nothing from Onomah to suggest he's good enough to be a useful option. In a league cup match he could be useful to come on for Sissoko in a match but he's not done much to earn more than that yet.
