He's just not a good enough technician to play for us. Wanyama or Toby could probably play better on the wing than he can.
I absolutely agree, throw a lack of confidence into the mix as well and it gets worse. When the ball is played to him he looks like all he wants to do is not muck up, it's gone past impatience with him, I genuinely feel bad for him.

The problem is, I don't think anyone else could do what he showed yesterday. He's quick and strong, and his lack of skill is sort of useful, in a weird way.

It's like when Dembele gets the ball forward and you just want him to play it to someone, but he keeps hold of it and, by then, the opposition have regrouped. Sissoko seems to hulk his way forwards and then once the ball has transitioned into the final 3rd through him, he delivers it to someone who can do something with it. It isn't pretty, but when you take stock of it, it's actually very useful.

That's not to say it's all he does - he could have had a few assists by the fact of him playing quick and simple passes. Yes, he looks like he would score as many for us as Freund, and he would be a vampire if he was any more afraid of crosses, but despite being a very strange footballer indeed, I'm actually starting to think he's actually valuable to our style of play. Scary thought.

Think you need to see an actual doctor.

Maybe! We've all wondered why Poch keeps playing him though, and I think the penny has just dropped, that's all.

A bit like one of those magic eye things from the 90s - you just have to stare at Sissoko until your eyes go all wonky, then it just clicks :LOL:

No they can’t. As bad as people make him out to be he’s played for two decent sized English clubs and is a French international

He reminds me of that Channel 4 ident where the giant silver channel 4 man is playing football on the street.

He had a good game. If he can do that from now until the end of the season it may not be all bad. However, still just basic.

He played really well yesterday and- despite a couple of “what in the FUCK are you doing Sissoko?!?”-‘s from yours truly- I actually liked him in there. He’s good against bus parkers because he drives right at them. Yes he’s pretty woeful technically, but there’s actually something kind of cool in his game in that he doesn’t fuck around- he just goes for it. He may suck but somehow it kind of works out lol.

Good to see the love in here for Sissoko

By all accounts a solid game today and a big part of another 3 points away from home in a tricky London Derby

He had a very good game today. Dead on his feet by about the 80th minute because he gave his all.

He’s always worked his bollocks off for us. I can see why Poch keeps him around, even if he isn’t the most technically gifted. I’d love it if he came good.
