Sometimes things are happening away from football that are not disclosed which affect a players psyche

Watching these recent games that sissoko has played in i think its safe to say that he has more than contributed his bit. The guy is a total machine and adds that physicality that we dont otherwise have without dembele or a fit wanyama.
Id actually go as far as to say that right now hes a nailed on starter. Aside from the 2 cb's and kane he is the 1 player i wouldnt want injured or rested. I thought he was very competent at rb powering forwards and along with rose on the opposite side we looked powerful and able to pen in the opposition.

I'd like to hear now from someone who was saying something along the lines of him being the worst player ever in a Spurs shirt. Is anyone honest enough to say that they overreacted and got it wrong?

He was legit awful for the first 2 years. He's now a good player more often than not. Once again those both can be true statements.

No, he was shit for us. I am glad he has proven me wrong in the sense that he is now playing better than I expected. But that means I or others were still correct for saying he was shit, when he was playing shit.

Those who went into his instagram live, messaged him on twitter or left him comments on his instagram and called him a **** and a disgrace should hang their heads in shame.

He wasn't up to standard in the first two seasons, but that's no reason to directly abuse someone. ESPECIALLY someone who gave his all every time he played, even if his all wasn't good enough for the first two years.

I don't think I've been more delighted to see someone succeed. Big up Moose

He's been nowhere near as bad for us as so many people kept saying he was

How about the 1-1 draw away at Real Madrid over a year ago or the 3-1 victory at Wembley

He played 90mins at the Bernabau and 65mins at home

Yes he’s playing consistently better for us now but he’s always done a job for his team ever since he arrived

All those slagging him off and calling him crap up until about a month ago need to actually watch the game and not just listen to the loud mouthed minority and agree with them because he did a few stand out awful things in between helping a lot and working hard

Sissoko's good form can be directly linked to the moment he won the team's uno tournament. He has taken the confidence and swagger from the dressing rooms, bragging about his uno championship win, out on the field.

You say he proved you wrong. That means you were wrong, and he's proved it. So you were wrong.

But you also say you were correct, which must be wrong, because he's proved you were wrong.

I do know what you mean though.

I think what really happened is when he was playing shit, a lot of people thought he was actually and irredeemably a shit player, and that is where they were definitely wrong. He was just playing shit and they weren't prepared to believe he could improve.

WRONG, thank fuck!

He was fucking terrible, you,d have had been fucking Nostradamus to see this turnaround because he didnt give any indication over the last two years that he was going to be the player he is now. I,ll be honest I couldnt understand how he made it as a professional footballer:LOL:

However I will give him massive credit as the dude must have great mental strength and good work ethic to do what hes doing. Either that or hes on steroids.

Honestly think he should have started at right wing-back last night, was better out there than in the middle IMO...bit of a shame as I doubt he'd like to play there with any regularity (Did I read something about this during his time at Newcastle?).

It's incredible the psychological effect has on a player. He came here with a massive price tag on his head, the fans were critical of him from the very beginning. Even the manager hardly played him in the first season. He had nobody in his corner for the first season and he struggled. Last season the manager started to play him more and he had a bit more backing from the coaches. So he played better but still had the fans on his back. This season he puts in some great performances and now the fans are on his side and we're seeing the best of him.

Maybe that's why he struggled at Newcastle because of all the negativity he had from fans. He played great for France because he took himself out of that environment and felt the love from the coaches, and the national fans were on side too. That's why we're getting the best out of him now. It shows because everything he does he's so much more assured of himself than before. He's thinking with a much more level head and not feeling like everyone is against him.
Agree with all of that. I can't remember a player whose form was so dependent on their level of confidence. You always have dips in self-belief, but can continue to play at a high level. But when Sissoko isn't feeling good on the inside, his play can be downright dreadful. Now that he's got some vim and verve about him, he's doing brilliantly. The immense swing in form is borderline bi-polar. Look at the chap who started a couple of our FA cup games last season, and that guy was embarrassingly poor. Compared to the guy who played last night, and you wouldn't know they're the same player. The gulf between low-confidence Sissoko versus high-confidence Sissoko is the size of an ocean.
Now, the question is whether the coaching staff can keep him at this level, and help him avoid the low-points.

He’s certainly a weapon against these small technical teams. After watching 2nd half again he was clear MOTM for me.
I loved the bit when he towered over Arthur, after that little prick faked a foul. The little lad just about peed himself.

I was correct that he was shit at the time he was shit, so I was correct. He has since gone on to improve within the team which has proved me wrong, but I was still correct in the fact he was shit before.

The fact he is now playing how he is now proves I and others were correct that he was shit before as he is now playing at this level.

Nope, he was fucking garbage and i was right to say he was fucking garbage, now he's playing quite well and that make me happy. However he has to do more than a month and a bit of playing well to undo two years of being an absolute liability to balance that out.

As great as he's been doing he is still in performance 'debt', if he left tomorrow it would be correct to say that overall he was still a waste of money. But hopefully he wont, hopefully he will continue this trajectory and by 2020 he'll win the Ballon D'or, or be heavyweight champion of the world or probably by that point Prime Minister.

Best moment last night was when he simply stood his ground to win the ball from dembele, who looked like he had hit a lamp post
