I have enjoyed his improvement but think that is OTT.
With the other injuries just now, sissoko has really stepped up and put some muscle into our CM. Losing Kane is still a massive loss, bus sissoko would be there in the next lot of names for me just now.

This is silly.

Not ridiculous as we do have Dier, Dembele and Wanyama out but still, come on dude.

Think he's been seriously pivotal of late, and our upturn in form coincides with him getting a prolonged run in the midfield.

Don't think it's silly, but each to their own mate.

People will talk about Kane or Eriksen getting injured would really hurt us.

But Sissoko getting injured would hurt us the most, by a mile imo.

Agree and disagree

Eriksen out would hurt us more but Sissoko would be sorely missed, his defensive contributions and his ability to to transition quick from defence to attack in particular.

The players clearly love playing with him though that's for sure.

Yeah I think Eriksen would be a huge loss as well.

But I think some underestimate how influential Sissoko has been. Yes most recognise the obvious improvement, but the role he's playing now is absolutely central to our upturn in performance.

It's not OTT. You're looking at it from an individual point of view, but looking at the collective he's absolutely crucial to us.

He's massive reason as to why we look so dangerous in attack, as he's bursting through the lines and opening up all kinds of space for our front four.

His work rate is phenomenal and what I'm saying is we'd cope better as a team if we lost one of our attackers but losing Sissoko would really hurt us in the middle of the park and would affect the overall level of the team performance more.

You have no idea how I am looking at it.

Given our backup in other positions and injuries in midfield I could stretch to him being our biggest loss right now.

But by a mile? That’s OTT.

I agree, just not that he would be our biggest loss by a mile.

What I was trying to say, is the role Sissoko is playing, I think would see us hurt most if he were to get injured.

With him in the team our front four are even better.

Everyone else seems to look even better with him in the side, I think that's why they love playing with him.

Delighted he's proved me wrong; I wanted him out at any price. It's also great to hear the fans singing his name.

Whilst I'm not so sure about most important, I completely agree that people don't realise quite how important he's become. I'll add to your points - if he got injured, we'd have to change system entirely. It's noticeable that we haven't played our current diamond shape when Moussa has been rotated out of the team; I don't think Pochettino trusts our balance were we to leave him out and put, say, Eriksen and Dele right and left in the diamond. We only ever play this shape when Moussa is in the team, and it's brought all our best performances this season.

I just think he's playing well; but because he was so abysmal the past two seasons the standards we hold him to are very low. So a decent performance where he controls the ball and passes it look amazing. Whereas for say Lamela, only had one assist last night and was below the standards he set people were on his back.

It's not a coincidence this great run of performances with fluid passes and movement has come back when we've got a midfielder who can win the ball back aggressively and then charge forward. Wanyama did this job tremendously in 2016/17 and we've missed him a lot. Sissoko is now doing that role.

Best thing about Sissoko is that he doesn't strike me as the kind of player who has to be rested every third game. It wouldn't surprise me if he started all 4 of our Festive PL games. And he should.

He's in a group of 6/7 now that starts most games. I would be bitterly disappointed if he got injured.

Just not true. Even neutrals are taking notice at how good he's been this last 3 months or so.

Not sure about that! We did play without him for the last 7mins (plus stoppage) and still managed to thrash Everton yesterday. :cautious:

I never thought I’d sat this, but if Dier and Sissoko were both to be fit, and I had to pick one to start, I genuinely think that I’d pick Moussa. Incredible how much he has improved.

?Oh Moussa Sissokoooooo?
