Evidently Sport Bild is reporting that Bentaleb may refuse to sign with Shalke in the summer due to the way their supporters treated him when he first arrived. That would put him back at Spurs until we figured out what to do with him.

I personally still rate him and would love him back in the fold, but that seems extremely unlikely unless something has transpired to convince Poch to give him another chance. Either way we would probably benefit as we'd likely be able to sell him on the open market for more than the €19m option to buy that Shalke have.
We'd be lucky to get €19m from anyone else. Some one posted a link with the Schalke fans thoughts on him and most were Meh about him... I think Poch is the type of manager that won't want him back in the club. His actions seemed to make it clear Bentaleb wasn't wanted.

He could probably have played left wing back for us in Rose's absence...

He was pretty decent as an emergency left back if memory services me correctly.

Aparantly shalke have to pay 16m if nabil plays one more game for them
From what I read they have the option to buy, and they can offer a lower price. But if they offer £16M then we have to accept the bid. Terms will still need to be settled with Bentalab and his agent. But IMO of he is settled there, then all the best too him.

Not really his biggest fan, plus with ACN commitments I think it's best if we sell him on.

"We have reached agreement with Schalke for the permanent transfer of Nabil Bentaleb this summer. We wish Nabil all the best for the future."
Fazio doing well, Bentaleb doing well and our bench weak and thin. In a CL season we should have kept them at the club for rotation and that includes N'Jie and Mason. Instead we promote Winks, Onomah and CCV who don't gave the experience to put in a shift over a whole season including European games.

At least the balance sheet is up!

N'Jie would have seen less minutes than GKN
Fazio would have seen less minutes than Wimmer
Mason would have seen less minutes than Winks

So they would have stayed the whole season, playing pretty much 0 minutes. Better to get them off the wage bill imo.

Controversial from me maybe but...

Winks >>> Bentaleb
