I have no idea mate just what I saw Southampton fans saying on Social media when we bought him

He didn't play much but his stats weren't great when he was there. I think when it came to the stat for mistakes leading to goals he was pretty bad.

Their first choice was Fraser Forster who was a big unit and quite formidable but he got a really bad injury and hasn't been the same since.

The thing with Gazzaniga is despite being 26 he is still youthful in goalkeeper terms. He's already shown a lot of improvement here and maybe in the near future he'll be trusted with the number one jersey. He looks like he's got a lot of the attributes needed and things like commanding the box will improve with more game time.

Maybe his improvement is because of the coaching he gets here.

I saw him play a few times for Gillingham in League 2, before his move to Southampton. He looked capable of playing at a much higher level, & I was surprised when he didn't do well with the Saints.

Poch obviously saw potential in him (albeit late developing), & I'm really pleased for Paolo. Gills fans still follow his progress at Spurs with interest & affection.

Good for him, probably won't see much game time outside of cups for us so be interesting how he feels end of the season.

He may feel his best years are being wasted here holding Hugos beers

This was my perception too and I had also seen the general opinion from Southampton fans and he was shaky the times that I did see him. I was dumbfounded when we signed him.

Very happy to have been proved wrong though, think he's been great when called upon this season and I certainly don't feel scared or worried when he's in goal.

Looking at our first team squad, do we have on player who isn’t a full international now? I’m looking at the core 23, KWP and Skipp are still youths on the periphery.

Lloris Gazzaniga Vorm
Trippier Aurier
Alderweireld Sanchez
Vertonghen Foyth
Rose Davies
Dier Wanyama
Winks Dembele
Dele Sissoko
Eriksen Lamela
Lucas Son
Kane Llorente

Excepting Llorente, every single one of those players is a current call up when fit.

God our depth is shocking...

We now have 26 full internationals on our books. The tweet below was before Gazzaniga's debut yesterday.
