Didn't we win 1-0 against Palace? Son scoring a late winner. Watford this season? That was vorm. Not sure about the others but I don't remember him picking the ball out the net. Vorm was playing earlier this season and gaz took over after a fee dodgy performances. West ham in the cup this year? I was at the game... But my memory is bad.
I couldn't believe he hadnt conceded a goal in 9 games so I looked it up. I'm not rainman :ROFLMAO:

Thanks to @rabbikeane for taking the time to write it up

Ah yeah, forgot it hit his leg. His problem is he doesn't use mind games in penalties. He just guesses a direction (almost always wrong) and goes with it. Luckily there, Aguero's pen was absolute shite and hit him in the leg.

Him tipping that deflected cross onto the post, was one of those underrated moments that go a massive way to winning a trophy. He seems to always rise to the occasion.

I hate to be that guy but didn't the replay show it was going wide and if anything he somehow directed it towards the goal?

Gooner at work keeps raving about him. Thinks he’s better than Lloris.

If both him and Lloris continue along their current tradjectories then it may not be too long before he is correct.

I only saw it live, so dont know. It looked absolutely crucial to me, and even if it was going wide, as the keeper how do you not try getting something on it? Would have been devastated if that went in and Gazza just stayed rooted.

I love Hugo, but I can't even recall whether he did save any penalty for us and France
He saved one from Falcao for Monaco, and I'm sure Aguero had a stinker by clipping one down the middle and then blazing the rebound over the resulting open goal.

That's from about 400* faced :D

*potential exaggeration due to the fact the first Google search showed me a list of "saved" penalties, which also included Gabriel Jesus, Jason Puncheon and Mark Noble, all of whom didn't hit the target. It does, however, mention Steve Sidwell, whose penalty I can't remember at all, so possibly a third genuine save.

Oh, I totally agree - I just remember @SargeantMeatCurtains saying it was going wide and he wears glasses, so assumed his viewing of it was better than mine.

Good mate of mine is a Saints fan. He said Gazzaniga made a few errors at the beginning but was young and inexperienced. Showed a lot of improvement by the end though was surprised at us buying him.

Really good keeper actually, seems like our defence is more settled with him than Lloris

He looked really calm yesterday and has done for a while, he has stepped up this season in place of Vorm and nailed that 2nd spot but when he plays i don't worry at all. Seems to have good control and passing as well for that possession football we play.

He is a LOT more composed with the ball at his feet than Hugo is. However I don't feel like the players even trust him fully yet, particularly after knocking one out for a throw early in the first half yesterday. Could put it down to nerves. He was much, much better in the second half.

I wouldn't say his shot-stopping has truly been tested in any games yet, but if he passes that test too Hugo might have some serious competition.

No he isn't, don't be ridiculous.

He's better at some aspects yes but he's not an overall a better keeper, remove yourself from the hyperbole.
I am falling on this side of what I think is a very reactionary debate. He has been much better than I thought he was and he does some things I wish Lloris would do better but overall I would comfortably wager if he was our #1 for an entire season at his current level (obviously he can continue to improve) we'd be on here having raging arguments over other issues in his game. The assumption that somehow because we've been unbeaten in the handful of games with him that would miraculously persist if he became #1 is frankly silly.
