I must admit when i heard we were linked with Aurier i did watch a lot of his YouTube vids and noticed how much he slides in usually successful but did fear that we'd be seeing him getting sent off for sliding in whilst on a booking.

Not to worry though 3 points in the bag, in time when and when not to slide in will be drilled into him by poch and coaching team.

Thought he played well, obviously needs to work on discipline but the criticism he is getting from the pundits on Sky is a joke.

His tackle in the 1st half inside the penalty box was immense

I'm glad he got a red, we need more players with bite and attitude. Also it's West Ham way and 3-1 up so fine but learn and don't do that again.

Biggest assets: Pace, tenacity, engine, breaking forward
Biggest liabilities: Being caught out of position, can lose the head, can fly in

Many similarities.
I didnt see him caught out of position mate, he's playing as a wing back so people need to realise some of the space is now defended by the RCB.

Until the red card he had that right flank under control and was bossing it.

Walkers main problem was his suicidal passing, and I've hardly seen Aurier misplace a pass as of yet let alone a 'Walker moment'.

Think he just got a bit excited today and had a bad day at the office. If Poch can channel that passion and energy in the right direction he'll be a great player for us.

It really is amazing how people squeeze the truth because they desperately want to create a narrative they can stick to.

He was caught out of position several times. He dived in on Arnautovic, letting him get away, and nearly cost us dearly, could have given away two pens. Was lucky not to get booked before he did, even of the first booking was harsh maybe, then fucktardily stupid to then go and get booked again. He gets up and down well, but actually provided nothing of quality going forward, a lot like Walker used to do.

Getting caught out of position will happen in our system, it happened all the time to Walker, but the funny thing is how Trippier's never been caught that many times in one game so far but was absolutely slaughtered the odd time he was, called "slow" and not fit to lace Walker's boots" etc. Aurier gets caught out and everyone's looking the other way, seemingly because they've decided they want him to be "great" before they've even seen him play properly and have formed a proper opinion.

He could turn out to be a very decent player for us, he has some good qualities, but he wasn't great today, he was patchy at best, a couple of good moments, some pretty ropey ones and a fucking stupid one that cost us dearly.

I have seen a shitload of Aurier. I said there will be issues. He's quick, strong, and tenacious, but he can be reckless and he can do stupid stuff. He'll get up and down like Walker, sometimes his delivery can be decent, but his end product can be hit and miss too.

In the final third of the pitch I would still take Trippier over Walker or Aurier. And I really don't think Trippier's a catastrophe as a defender either. But I wish we'd just kept KWP in the side after Newcastle, because I think he could end up being a better all round package than all of them.

He isn't crap and no-one is saying he is, but he wasn't great today either, which some people were saying.

He was a liability today at various times. It's a simple truth, he nearly cost us a game we were cruising in. Can you imagine if Trippier had done some of the shit Aurier did today ?

Tongue in cheek BC. Had Trippier played like that I wouldn't be castigating him.

No one is saying sell but he was poor. Hopefully better to come with less of the Atouba flourishes.
