I don't think Aurier has been that bad. He was actually one of our better players against Leicester, especially in the second half. Expecting a player who has had sporadic minutes, has moved to another country and culture, new team, training methods etc.. to perform straight away is unrealistic imo

Which is exactly the point I was making just in a very sarcastic way :cautious:

Guess you didn't see the sarcasm in it though :p

Mauricio is a very good coach but not a miracle worker.
His 'magic' won't always work,
various centre forward stand-ins for Harry for example.
If he can a silk purse out of Aurier why not KWP.
I didn't say Serge was rubbish or that KWP was brilliant
I said it would be quicker and cheaper to bring KWP up to scratch
from the limited viewing we have had of him.
Does Poch. only polish foreign rough diamonds.

I hope Serge and KWP settle in and become a top players for us.
but Serge is getting game time and KWP is not
so its difficult to make a judgement.
There must be reasons but they are not clear to me obviously.
I can only judge by what I see on the pitch.
As can all of you apart from 'In Poch we trust'

He has put in some very good performances for us this season, and even at his worst he hasn't been that bad. Seems that it always takes a full season for a player from a foreign league to bed in. He's strong, has pace, and is a better crosser of the ball than Rose or Walker in my opinion. I am very optimistic about his future here.

What he very much doesn't need is the fans getting on his back for less than perfect performances in games where even our established team members were shit.

All I want to see is him stretching the right side a bit more and make some of those bombing runs past the defender we have seen in his YouTube clips. Haven’t seen much of the take ons

He probably will improve, but at the moment, he is a liability. People were shooting their load over him during the summer, but the polishing job that needs to be done on him is profound.

I must say I have been amazed that he’s not as good as his reputation. It just goes to show how hard the premier league is I guess.

He played well in the only chance he's had
and we won't know his consistency
if we don't play him consistently
We knew what we were getting with Serge
I assume we did due diligence
and he has been predictably average
with liability overtones.

I think that's the point mate, we don't know a thing Only the manager will know and he probably knows that he's not ready to play him consistently.

he's been very good and i'd have no problem with trippier staying on, but stylistically he doesnt fit in our system and I just truely believe that KWP is going to be a beast. Also I think if we sell Trippier this summer we can maximize our value we can get for him.

I think KWP will be a major player for us also, though physically he is at the moment weaker than Trippier. Whilst I see great things ahead for KWP, he hasn't earnt Trippiers shirt, and for that matter nor has Aurier. Hopefully KWP will get a chance to shine in the home game against Apoel, and early rounds of the FA cup, and shows us his potential and value.

Weird comment when he's responsible for most of the recent English debuts...

Pochettinos status as a miracle worker was eternally confirmed and established when Kieran Trippier out-Marcelo'ed Marcelo at Wembley.

Another horrendous tackle from this lad last night...

I take it you don't like him. I will say that I don't believe it was malicious and that it was accidental. It did look bad, but I have seen loads of those where someone tries to shield the ball but plants their shielding foot on the other guys foot/ankle accidently.

Typical African player , does 5 great things and 1 awful thing . Always has a moment of madness , I thought he was going to be more solid and better on the ball . But it’s early days

Thought he was excellent yesterday bar that one incident. Still think the yellow was the right decision though.
